We enjoyed and would recommend a two night stay at this wonderful country hall hotel, where we celebrated our anniversary. The rooms are maintained to a very standard, we initially were allocated a ‘State Room’ (14) Pink Room, with lovely views to the rear of the hotel. Unfortunately the walk in shower did not work properly on our second day. We were immediately moved (upgraded) to a ‘State Deluxe’ ‘Blue’ room (9), a large corner room at the front of the hotel which was spacious and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and could not have been more helpful. The breakfasts and evening meal were delicious, the staff worked very hard but there were not sufficient in my opinion to manage all the residents at meal time. My only thought was that for evening meals, background music would be more appropriate so that conversations on other tables would be less coherent. If you are looking for relaxation you will find there are plenty of rooms and comfortable seating around the hall in which you can ‘chill’, including a billiard room. All rooms are on the first floor and with no lift, there are about 25 steps to manage. I enjoyed walking around grounds, the gardens are well maintained, there is a herb garden and greenhouse, and a small pond with ducks and ducklings on. We enjoyed visiting the local area including the Monday market at Hay on Wye, a lovely town. This is an outstanding luxury hotel which I’d highly recommend for any occasion and would not hesitate to return in the future.

Llangoed Hall is a lovely place to stay. It is situated approximately 10 miles to the west of Hay on Wye. Our room was very spacious and wonderfully furnished. A surprise in the large bathroom was a TV - could be watched as you lay in the bath! The restaurant offered fine dining and we were not disappointed. The Hall is set in beautiful gardens and is only a few hundred metres from the River Wye, which can be easily accessed from the Hall. Further, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a really good stay with excellent dining.

Llangoed Hall Team, From the moment we arrived, we were genuinely welcomed and cared for. Thank you. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast also. It is the first hotel we have stayed at that genuinely felt like a warm invitation into a friend’s home and we would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Llangoed Hall to our nearest and dearest. We wanted to extend a special thank you to Jeremy and Abbie. What an incredible team they are! The way they work together, anticipating each other's needs and movements without a word, is phenomenal. It was no surprise to learn that they have worked together for years; their synergy made our entire experience seamless. Thank you again for creating such a memorable experience.

We've started an annual tradition of coming from Bristol for the weekend because we love it. The art collection is superb. The dinner is top notch. The surrounding countryside creates ample opportunities for walks and visits. It's slightly hard to describe - it's like staying with the aristocratic posh relatives you never actually had. It's understated, friendly, homely, imperfect, a little bit dishevelled, in an endearing way. There's no bling here, more muddy wellies and vegetables from the garden. Keep going!

This hotel has regressed massively over the years. We first stayed 15 years ago and it was magnificent. Now it is poor. Cold rooms. Extremely tired decor. Minimal staffing. Wood fires let to go out. Restaurant still good. All else is desperately sad. Must be holding on by its finger tips.

Excellent place to stay. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff when we arrived. Everyone was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We felt looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Food was fantastic and drinks were reasonably priced with good local options to choose from. Overall the venue had a great atmosphere and was very clean. Would certainly recommend staying at this hotel if you can.

What a lovely, relaxing place to visit. The public rooms were nicely decorated, with lovely views. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the grounds were beautiful. You can walk to the river in around five minutes. The food was lovely and we could not find fault with anything during our visit. We fully intend to return at some point.

Excellent in every respect: comfort; food; stunning views; delightful gardens; wonderful ambiance. Throughout our two-night stay (19/20 June) we were particularly impressed with the kindness and courtesy extended to us by the hard-working young staff who never failed to go the extra mile. Thank you. We'll be back!
