Ty Helyg Guest House

Excellent guesthouse in the centre of Brecon. Beautiful period building run by a helpful and friendly couple. Very clean with comfortable bed in a large room. A large breakfast sets you up for the day ahead. Dogs very welcome.

Host Christine was very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was wonderful and made to order. The Guest house is near the village centre, close to pubs and restaurants. Parking is at 5 minutes walk near the theatre, but you can stop shortly in front of the guesthouse for unloading your luggage. The room was spotless. Nice firm kingsize bed. Although the room was on a busy road, we did not notice any traffic noise during the night. The shower stall was tiny, but it worked. Reccommended.

Not the first time I’ve stayed here. The best place to stay in Brecon, very close to the town centre. The hostess Christine and her husband Robin are amazing very attentive to everyone’s needs, I would not want to stay anywhere else when in Brecon for the annual get together.

Fantastic stay. Christine and partner run an excellent b and b / hotel. Stayed there for many years. Always clean and tidy. Breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended and so welcoming. Staff always go the extra mile too assist- parking has also been sorted via the hotel. Will be back.

We have just enjoyed a weekend staying at Ty Helg Guest House, the guest house is beautifully decorated and spotlessley clean from top to bottom. The rooms are well appointed and the bed is so comfortable which means an excellent night's sleep. The best thing are the hosts who are so welcoming and run the guest house very effeciently. Will definately be returning.

Such a warm welcome . Our host went out of her way to arrange a late dinner for us in the nearby Pub. Recognising my husbands mobility issues she also switched rooms for easier access without being asked. Breakfast was delicious and served with many smiles. A great find.

Christine and Robin went out of their way to make us feel completely at home. They were very attentive to our needs and full of good restaurant + taxi recommendations. Breakfasts were varied and superb. Ty Helyg is a great base for walkers keen to explore the Brecon Beacons.

Christine and her husband are very welcoming hosts. The B&B is pristine and the room very comfortable. Lovely breakfast and a really nice atmosphere, definitely recommend staying here if you are exploring the area. Christine gave us a great recommendation on a nearby waterfall walk (Coedwig Talybont Forest) and nice tea room- perfect the day after walking Pen Y Fan.

Christine is the most wonderful host. She went above and beyond to enure we (group of 7 girlfriends walking) had a wonderful time. Comms excellent - shared details of restaurants to book/ parking etc Warm welcome - flexible on arrival time to fit with our schedule. Breakfast - delicious! Using proper sausages from the butcher - and excellent coffee. Drinks in the evening - happily provided us with glasses so we could enjoy a drink together in the guest lounge before we went out. Dogs - she loves them and gave ours a little picnic bag of sausages to take on our walk. Location - the guest house is in a great location walking distance to all teh restaurants (2-3 mintes away). It is on the road into Brecon. If traffic noise does bother you, ask for a quiet room at the back. I had room 4 which was perfect (and spotless) and had a bath. AND when we returned from a snowy, wet, cold, windy walk (in April!) she tumbled-dryed our wet clothes so we could walk again the next day. Could I improve anything? I do love a feather pillow...but apart from that, nothing. It is a perfect informal spot for exploring the hills. Thankyou Christine. We had a wonderful time. Cat.
