I stayed in this hotel over the Bank Holiday weekend from Sat 4 to Mon 6 May. I thought the hotel was rather shabby despite its recent renovation, but it was overall reasonable value, especially since I had made my booking some months in advance. My experience in the hotel was, however, overshadowed by the fact that throughout my stay I had no hot water in the shower. I arrived on Sat afternoon and wanted to take a shower before I went out for dinner, but was frustrated by the absence of hot water. I reported this to the front desk on leaving the hotel, but the desk was unattended on my return later in the evening so I was not able to check on progress. The next morning, there was again no hot water, which again I reported to the front desk and asked them please to have it fixed. On my return to the hotel in the evening, I was assured by the front desk staff that an engineer had visited during the day and that the shower was working. Nevertheless, the next morning there was still no hot water. I spent three days (two nights) in the hotel unable to take a shower. This is quite unacceptable.

Very disappointing. Beautiful setting however the condition of the place is without doubt the worst I have known. Advertised as having a spa, however its more of a time machine. Old and decrepit equipment and facilities that were out of order or faulty, including the showers. The whole place was filthy, dusty and mouldy, see pictures below. Not at all what I had expected. Speaking to other guests I found I was not alone, and several had made complaints.

Great value hotel with spacious rooms & bathrooms, lovely gym and spa. Common living areas are a bit sp**** and lacking in furniture & warmth but there is a nice cafe in the spa with decent food (daytime only).

We went to the hotel for a family get together. While the hotel has limited catering as they restart the business, they brought in a chef and cooked amazing food for us. Staff were very attentive and the set up and setting was beautiful. We also stayed in the hotel and were in a suite, which was amazing. There was a separate room for the kids attached to ours, and the space was unbelievable. Nice touches like biscuits and different soaps and local mineral water from Glastonbury. The grounds are great to explore. My wife had a couple of spa treatments and we were able to use the pool and jacuzzi, which the kids enjoyed. Breakfast was continental, but I understand that they are hoping to provide an English Breakfast at some point soon, but it there was enough food for us. This place is a gem, not far off the A303 and close to Wincanton, so if you do need to go out for something Morrisons etc is 5 minutes away.

We had a beautiful stay here and the spa facilities are lovely. There wasn’t any food facilities available during our stay but we knew this beforehand. Lovely place and nice staff.
