Hotels Near Hondenweide in Brasschaat

We are two women in our late 60's and early 70's, we were checked in after 3. We took the elevator then had to go up 6 or 7 stairs lugging our luggage. We get in our room and it was the size of a closet. I called front desk, I was ready to move hotels. We were moved to bigger room, didn't realize the smell wasn't from room not being used, it smelled like sewer gas. The staff came and smelled the room the next day and said they would give us a new room. This one was acceptable. It looked out at train station and ferris wheel. I asked the evening desk clerk a question about catching a train next day. He was very helpful and told me to stop with my info in morning so he could look at it. When I went down this morning, I was met by a young lady with dark hair and a man, Oliver, I told him I was told to stop by desk. He told me, the train station is over there, go ask them. I found most staff friendly, but Oliver rude. Also, the fact that we had to move rooms 3 times. I don't know that I would stay again.

Pillows are amazing, Wi-Fi really good and staff are one of the nicest I’ve ever met. This centrally located boutique hotel is perfect for business travel, but I’d definitely return for a leisure break. My work schedule changed and to say the team were accommodating is an understatement. In my limited free time I managed to see the central shopping area and visit the very close by old town (highly recommend ). My only ****** is that the menu for just a light snack is fairly limited. As a solo guest, I felt very secure. But for me this hotel was a solid 9/10

Came by the other day and it was a decent experience, although with some bizarre quirks. Booked direct for the ”Executive Family Studio with Kitchen” and the front desk agent printed out a contract with a ”Deluxe Studio.” When I inquired about the difference, another employee quickly chimed in that I ”got upgraded” and my original room had no kitchen?!? As the ”Executive Studio with Kitchen” has kitchen in the name, I inquired a second time, and the employee raised her voice saying that the room was the same?!? A 3rd employee eventually came in, after reviewing their own website, and started talking about the Penthouse suite (completely irrelevant?!?). Attempted to use the laundry room located behind the secure door using my keycard and had to answer 21 questions to the front desk agent with my room number, my full name, and the company I was representing (all with a load of dirty laundry in my arms), which was completely bizarre. At 7 am, the agent claimed that someone on my floor booked a taxi?!? (also completely irrelevant?!?) The studio itself was pretty spacious, although with some quicks. For example, the bathroom was dated, unlike the pictures on the website. More importantly, it was bizarre to have a handheld shower installed on the long side of the bathtub, vs the short side?!? ...also might have been helpful to use a curved shower curtain to make showering less claustrophobic... Water pressure was usable although the shower curtain had a strange smell... Highlights of the studio included the comfortable bed, although slightly lumpy in areas, with quality sheets and towels. The kitchen itself was modern and fully stocked, including 2 bottles of water in the kitchen. The ”welcome gift” appeared to be the 2 dishwashing tablets and manual dishwashing liquid... Booking direct, the confirmation indicated that there would be a ”welcome drink upon arrival” Perhaps the 2 bottles of water in the fridge was it?!? Other anomalies included super dark lighting at night. The lighting was insufficient in the dining area, which made it quite dark to work and read in. There was a freestanding light that helped provide additional lighting in the sleeping area. It was also odd to see that the room number listed on my in room telephone was different from the one on my door?!? The laundry room was complimentary and fantastic! There was also complimentary laundry detergent. A wash takes 2-3 hours and a dry takes 1+ hour. The signage against the wall with instructions on how to use the washing machine didn't match the actual washing machine which was confusing at best...

Great Hotel with normally excellent facilities. Slightly confusing elevator system but that was probably because we used the underground parking. Only disappointment was the pool being closed.. Room was roomy and fine TV lacks international channels. Would certainly recommend this hotel, you are based right in the Centre of Antwerp with great restaurants and entertainment.

THE BEST HOSTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN . More of a hotel/temporary living space. I found myself distrcted from sightseeing to spend time in the public areas. It was amazing - the decor, the facilities, the books, the communal work table for digital nomads, the compemporary furnishings, the stylish bathrooms, super kitchen ( with named plastic boxes for ythe fridge) plants and flowers, the roof terrace, the internal gardens, the green walls, the extras ( free quality ontap teas/coffees, the towels, the ear plugs etc) , the bicycles for rent and the super efficent and helpful staff. I didin't try the restaurant but the breakfast looked good. . I am looking forward to visiting their new venue in Liege and , when it is open - Brussels

The history of Castle Solhof dates back to 1414 and at one time it was surrounded by moat and castle walls, the moat and turrets of the castle still survive today. Now a hotel the present owners bought the Castle in 1990. The entrance and cobbled courtyard are very impressive, with an ornate fountain / pond and neatly pruned hedges. At check-in the receptionist did not seem at all bothered about Covid and said I should remove my mask as it was not needed, even though I had just arrived from the UK and driven through France! I had a Superior Twin Room (#19) with two large beds. The room was nicely furnished, with maybe a table too many, and I loved the tall windows over looking the front courtyard. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was for its free courtyard parking and I could see my car safely from my room. I had no meal plan at the hotel so I can't comment on that. My room was very warm and I couldn't see how to control the heating, so I opened both windows! The bed was comfortable and the room clean, but I do hate a shower in a bath with a clingy shower curtain. My room was €99 booked via Expedia.

After traveling through Amsterdam, north of France, 3 cities in Belgium and being disappointed with almost every hotel, our stay at this hotel was finally superb. Clean, friendly staff, centrally located in Antwerp, and the view of Central station during the day and night was just stunning. Upon arrival I requested view to Central Station and the attendant wasted no time to grant the request. All we had to do was join the hotel’s rewards program, which we did without hesitation, and my wish was granted. Our room was upgraded at no cost and we were not disappointed. Ground public parking conveniently located under hotel. Plenty of restaurants around. Chocolate Nation Museum literally 10 steps away. The room was big and comfortable. Bathroom too. Great blow drier lol. Toiletries provided including toothbrush, comb, bath salts…. We were truly impressed. Highly recommended if you’re on leisure or a business trip.

Highly recommended for those who want to have a good access to the city centre of Antwerp. The WiFi is great and well connected. The room is very comfortable and clean too. Easy access to the public transport system and restaurants. The convenience store is located on the next door. Enjoyed staying at this hotel.

If it wasn't for the fact my room seemed unkempt, this hotel would have been perfect. The bathroom seem to have issues with the plumbing, and the bed sheets were stained. 🤮 I hope it was an isolated case, regardless, unacceptable! Everything else was fantastic, the hotel personal was professional, friendly, and polite. The breakfast was amazing, very good quality buffet (not included). The location was amazing, only 100 meters from the train station (a straight shot to Brussels airport), about a 10 minute walk to Old Town. Shops and good restaurants can be found in the immediate surroundings.

The hotel is located 5 mins walk from Central Station (down the side, not towards the front), so great when arriving by train. Easy to walk to the main parts of town. Check in was at a couple of tables to the left of the entrance. Had a clean twin room and even after we pushed the 2 beds apart properly, there was plenty of space. Large bathroom with plenty of space around and under the sink for personal toiletries, although nice hotel toiletries (hand wash, moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner) were supplied. For some reason we had 2 shampoos in the walk in shower and when we told housekeeping when going out and asked for shower gel, we were left with another shampoo. This was not an issue though as we'd brought our own stuff so just used that instead. Complimentary bottle of still water provided every day which was nice, although the tap water is perfectly clean and drinkable. Flavoured (fresh mint or fruit) water, apples and gummies provided on a table near the entrance/exit, which was a nice touch. Staff very friendly and helpful. We didn't have the breakfast at the hotel as there are so many other options nearby in the town and our main reason for going to Antwerp was to eat locally.
