Brian the manager went out of his way to make me comfortable including getting a de humidifer for my room as my allergies got bad . the place was immaculate always mopping and cleaning the lobby The maintence man mike was always doing something not just waiting for work (even picked up papers in parking area ) breakfast was awesome huge selection including healthy items gluten free and even had pancake machine all the staff were so friendly and helpful i would not hesitate to stay there again especially if brian kathy medina and mike were there

One of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed in, prices are very affordable, rooms are immaculate and staff is very friendly. Me and my girlfriend came to this hotel about a couple weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’re back again and loving it. This place is splendid. Highly recommend.

Five nights. Room 140. Newly renovated room. I found the room clean and in good condition. Family owned. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Price was very reasonable. Bed was firm but comfortable. Pillows were fine. There are sliding windows in both the front and in the kitchenette but boards are provided to keep the window from sliding. Heating / air conditioning system worked well. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Amenities include: large TV, small (but efficient) microwave, mini fridge, iron + board, hairdryer, bar soap, and shampoo packets. Free coffee in the office. Chilled water and canned soda for a nominal fee also in the office. Location is convenient and safe. Both grocery and gas are close by. Starbucks too. Easy access to Route 1 and I-95. I would stay here again.

This is an older motel located right next to a very busy highway and frontage road. If you just need a relatively inexpensive place to get a night's sleep, it's an adequate. Everything is old and a bit decrepit. There is highway noise in the rooms in the front of the motel - I suggest bringing earplugs if you need quiet for sleeping. On the positive side, my room was clean and there was an adequate breakfast included with the price of the room.

On the positive side, my room was clean and there was an adequate breakfast included with the price of the room.

It's apparent that the owners take good care of their property -- clean grout, amenities in good shape, nothing missing, wall protector behind the door knob, decent smell (i.e., absence of smell). I'm glad we found this affordable sanctuary in the overpriced New Haven market. Also, Stop & Shop, gas and dining options nearby. Caveat: based on only one stay in one room. Will be back next week.

The Hotel Marcel was quite Modern and very aesthetically pleasing! Upon arrival, I could tell this hotel was full of charm and personality. I especially enjoyed my stay in a corner suite with a King bed. The bathroom was very luxurious and I felt as though it was something out of a magazine. Overall, my stay was very comfortable and affordable. If I had one gripe it would be that the interior of the room was very dim in lighting even when the lights were fully on (touch censored lighting was available). I wish more light was able to be in the room.

Brian the manager went out of his way to make me comfortable including getting a de humidifer for my room as my allergies got bad . the place was immaculate always mopping and cleaning the lobby The maintence man mike was always doing something not just waiting for work (even picked up papers in parking area ) breakfast was awesome huge selection including healthy items gluten free and even had pancake machine all the staff were so friendly and helpful i would not hesitate to stay there again especially if brian kathy medina and mike were there

I have stayed at three hotels in New Haven. I feel that this is the best value for money hotel in New Haven. After staying for three weeks, the hotel has a free shuttle shuttle to Yale every day, 8-10 minutes away. Free wifi, free parking, American breakfast, and free dinner from Monday to Wednesday. All the kitchen utensils in the kitchen are complete and can be cooked by yourself. The hotel staff are very nice, breakfast can also be taken in their own room, laundry, small gym are complete. Walking to the beach is also very close

Five nights. Room 140. Newly renovated room. I found the room clean and in good condition. Family owned. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Price was very reasonable. Bed was firm but comfortable. Pillows were fine. There are sliding windows in both the front and in the kitchenette but boards are provided to keep the window from sliding. Heating / air conditioning system worked well. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Amenities include: large TV, small (but efficient) microwave, mini fridge, iron + board, hairdryer, bar soap, and shampoo packets. Free coffee in the office. Chilled water and canned soda for a nominal fee also in the office. Location is convenient and safe. Both grocery and gas are close by. Starbucks too. Easy access to Route 1 and I-95. I would stay here again.
