We decided to go for mothers day lunch as weve been before when it was a beefeater restaurant. We booked for 1pm the place was busy . We was very impressed with all aspects of our visit . The welcome recieved the polite and knowledgeable staff who showed us to our table and asked which drinks we wanted . We decided to have a sunday pork roast and cauliflower cheese . The food arrived fairly quickly was well presented and above all was delicious and freshly cooked to our liking. We decided to have 2 desserts bread and butter chocolate pudding and apple and rhubarb crumble both excellent. Would highly recommend this place we will be back soon thanks

The staff in the Highwayman were excellent and could not do enough for us. It was my sister's birthday and they really made it special for her both in the hotel and the restaurant. It's positioning for Chatsworth, Bakewell etc is perfect. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very welcoming and best lime and soda ever. Soup was really nice but could have eaten twice as much. Gammon was well cooked and enjoyable. Sticky toffee pudding was OK but needs more sauce as quite dry ,home made would have been better. Would definitely try this place again

We have had several meals at this restaurant and they have improved drastically in the last months. Sunday lunch is excellent and great value for money. Excellent service from the restaurant staff and James the manager is one of the most obliging people you could meet. Well done on the change over from Beefeater to Devonshire (Chatsworth) not an easy time but all the staff did a brilliant job 👌❤️❤️

The Highwayman Hotel is on the edge of the Peak District, located in a rural, peaceful setting with ample parking. I stayed at the Highwayman Hotel (formerly Premier Inn West) for over four weeks while I completed my studies. Having stayed in many hotels across the UK I can honestly say that the staff at the Highwayman Hotel provided some of the best customer service I have experienced in a hotel setting. The staff are friendly, considerate and have a wealth of knowledge about the local area. During my time at the hotel I stayed in several different rooms; I slept well and woke feeling rested. The rooms were clean and comfortable with ample heating to make the room cosy in the winter weather. There are some amazing views of the countryside from a number of the rooms on the first floor - ask a member of staff for a room with a view! Every member of staff at the hotel made me feel welcome and valued as a customer. There was always a friendly face at reception if I needed help or information - any issues were quickly dealt with. I am pleased to tell you all that I passed the Royal Horticultural Society qualification with MERIT. A big thank you to the cleaning staff who went out of their way to be as quiet as possible while I was studying, it made a difference, it allowed me to concentrate and focus on my work. The breakfast at the Highwayman was delicious, in fact its one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had - a breakfast full of flavour - quality produce presented with care. Thank you again to all the staff at the Highwayman Hotel.

Visited in Jan 25 it was of course very quiet, as many places are but it they aren’t even going to try then I’m not surprised it’s that quiet. Children’s food offering is laughable, Chicago town microwave pizza? Come on! Whoever wrote this menu couldn’t care less about people. The food as a whole kind of ticked a box, it was more or less as described on the menu, but lacked any care, scruffy plating, cold plates, no seasoning forgotten items, bearnaise sauce had no tarragon - so hollandaise then. Clearly Chatsworth and cavendish group don’t care about anything other than their flagship properties. They were understaffed. Heard one lady say she had been on since 6am it was almost 9pm, they were trying their hardest but only so much they can do. Sticky toffee was like a tin of syrup sponge with the sauce taken away and a ball of cheap ice cream. Overall decidedly underwhelming. Bring back the old beefeater. At least that was trying to offer some sense of hospitality rather than squeezing as much margin out of every meal

We had an overnight stay as we were meeting family. As it had been a Premier Inn we knew what we were getting so really pleased. Everything was excellent. A portable radiator in our room was great so that we could regulate the temperature. The windows opened for fresh air if needed. The sunrise view over the hills was spectacular. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. I loved the former farm setting. We will return.

Booked for an evening meal after visiting Christmas at Chatsworth. We appreciated sitting by the lovely log fire as it was a freezing cold day. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, although expectedly for early January, it wasn't very busy. Staff very friendly and helpful. We ordered main meals, desserts and wine which we all enjoyed. Nicely presented and piping hot food and good choice considering 2 of us are vegetarians. We'll be coming back.
