The staff was decent, it took a while for them to warm up and show a smile or a kind greeting but they did come around. The breakfast was good, and the eating area was clean and nice for our family. The pool was decent, slightly warm. We were able to enjoy our time in the pool. The hot tub was closed for repairs. The room was something to be desired. We are not a family that needs a lot of fancy things. So for instance when our mini fridge is wobbly or there are large paint chips off the wall and a couple chunks of food on the floor when we walked in for the first time we just cleaned up and moved on. The biggest issue I had was the smell. I bought some Febreeze at Target right across the road and sprayed the bed linens and carpet hoping that would take care of it all. Later that same evening when we returned the smell was worse. By day 2 evening, we check out morning of day three, I figured out the smell is coming from the AC unit. It smells like dirty feet old stinky, musty, dirty feet. Meanwhile my daughter, son and myself have all come down with sore throats, runny noses, and have no fevers. We spent a few hours in the room each day while my husband was working on business and he has been fine. I am really thinking we have been breathing in moldy air. It has just been disappointing. Unfortunately we will be staying somewhere else the next time we come to town until we know this hotel gets the AC units fixed bc I can’t be breathing in that moldy air again. It was so bad.

Everyone was great but Ashley at the front desk was excellent. Was there lining up care for my mother in law (and she had no idea about the dementia or anything that was going on) and she and the entire staff were great. Can’t say enough good things about them. Thank you all!

Front desk associate, Chris, was very accommodating and helpful with check in and went above and beyond to help ensure our needs were met. The room was VERY clean and the bed was so comfortable. Loved the modern decor. Best part was probably the huge amount of counter space in the bathroom. The barn door for a bathroom door was not my favorite but it does help amplify space in the entry area. Breakfast was good - not quite as kid friendly as I was hoping as cereal options were more for adults and they could probably get rid of the oatmeal bar and add more toasters. The line to use the industrial toaster took quite awhile. Overall a wonderful stay and best hotel I have been to in awhile!

Spacious King room with kitchen! Comfortable bed! Great prices! Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were all very helpful and kind. I will definately recommend to anyone dropping off or visiting your kids at ONU and plan to stay again in the future. Thanks BW!

Passing through Kankakee I spent one night at this older-style Fairfield Inn and it meant my expectations. Mobile check in was smooth and the lobby was decorated in Halloween style. Breakfast was the usual fare and I hope one of these Marriott updates it. Being a platinum member I'm getting tired of it. The shower head was tall enough for my 6'1” frame to get under and the water pressure was like a firehose. Perfect. The only nit I would pick is the office chair in room 104 is worn, ugly and should be replaced or recovered. I would stay here again.
