Disappointed, especially with the room (Piggery no 7) - the bathroom was in poor condition and smelt unpleasant. Feedback was shared with the staff whilst I was there and a promised response from the General Manager has been a week in the waiting! Spoilt what should have been a celebratory birthday weekend. In summary, room bore no resemblance to those represented on the website.

Widbrook Grange is a reminder of the more fabulous aspects of English life. The inclusivity and acceptance of change. The cheerfulness in a bit of dowdiness. Laughing at life. They seriously DO welcome dogs. The grounds and rooms are a very interesting combination for pets. The standard menu is great and is accompanied by some very reasonably priced wines. The multitude of gins was not really our thing but fun for lots of folk. One tiny request. Please get a Scrabble set? Preferably an old, wooden one! A wonderful two night stay. Thank you!!

Very disappointed, menus in room out of date so food we had looked forward to was unavailable. Olives and bread on room menu was £8.50 but on paying the new menu had bread as £7.00 and olives tucked away in extras at £4.50, sneaky. The music system in the conservatory was broken and as dog owners we were on our own for a few meals..all coffee/tea and condiments in main restaurant so you have to go and get yourself. The cleaning wasn’t very good, no bed linen changed in the time we stayed, the shower head dirty, mould around bath..the gin menu not updated so choices made they did not have. The dog wash was a dirty tin bath full of rubbish. Conservatory chairs stained. We wanted to leave early but the team couldn’t confirm if we could have a refund as the General Manager was on holiday. This was supposed to be a luxury boutique spa hotel, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and husbands up and coming 60th birthday.

Hughly recommend High tea at Widbrook Grange. Traditional tiered high tea service (did have a bite of the salmon finger sandwich before thinking to take a photo) with large pots of tea or coffee in a fabulous rural setting with historic Bradford-on-Avon township just 5 minutes away. Very competitively priced & absolutely worth it.

I'll begin with the positive. The food was great, presented nicely and hot although the menu doesn't change daily. Now, to the not so good. We were in the Artist room, (room 6) which is advertised as a superior double. Sadly this is far from superior. Apart from the bed being comfortable with good quality bedding, that is the only positive we can find. Where to start.... wardrobe: impossible to hang anything due to the nature of the hanger/rail arrangement. No drawer space for clothes so for the time we were there we had to leave our clothes in the case. There is a desk/dressing table which had 2 small drawers which my husband put his medication in only for it to drop straight through. I sat to dry my hair using the mirror above and I could only see the top of my head. The carpet is not clean and there was no heating despite being told that the heating would be on at 6pm. The windows are all cloudy so can't see out. Now to the bathroom: no blind to the window, so we resorted to putting a towel up. No grab rail for the shower and nowhere to put toiletries while in the shower other than the floor which is not ideal.

Generally we enjoyed our stay which was for my wife’s birthday. The Seamstress’ Room was atmospheric and we loved the roll top bath and comfortable four poster bed. Dinner was fine, although we were ignored by the waiter for at least ten minutes before being attended to. An American couple who were also being ignored got up and left! A couple who appeared to be regulars managed to get their orders in as soon as they were shown to their table so were served much quicker than anyone else which was annoying. Waiters should be trained to acknowledge diners and several drinks much quicker rather than ignoring them! My wife’s crab ravioli starter was very disappointing as it had precious little crab in it. My scallops were excellent. Our mains (lemon chicken and beef fillet) were very good. After-dinner cocktails were good. Breakfast was good but no-one had serviettes so us guests had to find them in a side cabinet ourselves - again, evidence that the young waiters are poorly trained. On checking out our invoice was not itemised so we just had to trust that we hadn’t been over-charged for food and drinks. Again I feel that an itemised bill should be essential. Shame that these easily rectifiable details took the edge off our stay!

We booked a two night ground floor stay at Widbrook Grange on 11 March through a Waitrose deal. On arrival, we went to our room to find the bathroom unusable, we reported it straight away to be offered an alternative room that was not suitable for our needs. The receptionist advised that they would get someone to investigate the next day; so in the meantime, we had to use the Reception toilet which was in a separate building to our room. The evening of the next day, we were told that the vehicle had broken down and so the problem had not been fixed, we asked if they could send someone else out and they advised they only had a contract with one provider and they had one vehicle. We sought compensation at the end of our stay, we paid £373 for two nights B&B and we were offered £46 compensation, which I feel is not relative of the issues we had. I felt I needed to leave this honest review in light of this. The hotel room we had, aside from the bathroom, was nice but the hotel and ground were a little tired. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice. Friendly staff. In a nutshell, not somewhere I would recommend to friends and family or book again.

The best towels ever and largest bed in the Seamstresses room. Great shower and plenty of hot water. Husband did use the bath one night. Our second stay here..this time for 3 nights. Hard to find fault with anything... just would like the option of a pot of tea at breakfast rather than tea bag in a cup. But once we asked for a tea pot one was supplied full of hot water. Breakfast is very good. Evening meal the first night was excellent as was the wine. The gin bar has a wide range of spirits available. Excellent location..easy walk into Bradford on Avon via the canal or road. Staff supplied details of train times into Bath...super easy . Plenty of car parking and nice garden
