The lodge provides a serene nature setting with comfortable, well-furnished rooms and exceptional staff. However, some guests found it expensive compared to their expectations.

The staff, Katherine, Emily and Hanna all had the very best interest in our family the entire week. Super friendly and accommodating making parent’s weekend outstanding. The GRL is breathtaking, the food and bar were both spectacular and should be on everyone’s place to stay when in Bozeman. Thank you for an amazing stay! David Stone

Reading the recent reviews before our arrival, I became very concerned, and even changed the room from the trout lodge to the main lodge. Maybe because the lodge was not full, I’ll be honest I don’t know what all the complaints were about. Agree it is expensive, but at least our room (103) was really nice, comfortable bed, jacuzzi bath, nice furnishing, clean. Yes there is no one on site after 9pm, but you come to a place like this to relax, it was so peaceful. The breakfast in the room was OK, and it was a bonus having a Nespresso coffee machine in the lobby area. Enjoyed sitting on the terrace having a drink during the happy hour, nice atmosphere and good service. Restaurant was OK, we had the steak and it was good, but I would say maybe too many sauces / flavours and you lost the taste of the meat. We used one of the recommended fly fishing guides, and unfortunately due to heavy rain the rivers were not good, but we still had a great day. I would comment that the guide was very fixed on his way to fish and spent too long trying to explain how to cast and getting set up (1.5 hrs) , so if you are experienced you may find this a bit frustrating.

We hosted a corporate event here and it was incredible! The Lodge was so easy to work with and the size was perfect for our group of 90. We had guests from out of town and they were blown away with the professionalism and the views, especially with the leaves changing. Adding in flyfishing/casting lessons made it a truly special event, Highly recommend for a truly special experience.

Let’s be clear - this lodge is NOT on a river so on drive up it was instant disappointment for us. There is a pond that you can poke fish in. Accommodations are not 5 star. We stayed in the Trout Lodge. Walls are thin - you can hear neighbor’s conversation. AC is loud. Porch lights don’t go off making the room bright and difficult to sleep in. Porch lights attract bugs - lots of gnats in our room. Breakfast provided in room refrigerator but there is no microwave to warm the croissant or scone so if you enjoy a rock hard pastry you’re in luck. We did enjoy the meal at the restaurant and that is where all the great reviews seem to be coming from! Saved by the chef! I will also say that there was a large party for an event outside and it was very apparent that additional staff had not been brought in. We thought we’d show up early , have a nice drink at the bar before dinner and were met by a stressed server who apologized because they were having to do everything. Not a good start to the meal, seeing stressed staff but the meal was great. We also enjoyed desert outside our room watching the deer at sunset. However, in my opinion this accommodation is overpriced and not what is represented online.

What a wonderful find. Gorgeous location. I can see why people get married here. The food was absolutely amazing. Thank you Chef. Room was comfortable and quiet. Lovely to have a patio to sit outside, amazing view. Will definitely be back!!

It was nice but not worth the price. cold breakfast with no protein. Our room didn’t get refreshed on our last day, neither did the breakfast basket. Pretty underwhelmed unfortunately, especially for $600 a night. The restaurant was good, but again not worth the money. $45 a plate and did not wow me. Won’t be back.

I can sum up our visit with one word: underwhelming. This is a three star hotel charging four star+ rates. There is a lot of potential here, but until they can refine their attention to detail, expand their available amenities, and improve their customer service, I cannot recommend staying here at this price point. The grounds are beautiful but that's not hard to find in Montana.

We were looking forward to a quiet location on the river. Instead a small pond. Our room smelled so bad the staff moved us to another, upgraded room. The upgraded room however had clearly not been thoroughly cleaned as there was garbage left under the sink. I brought this to the attention of desk clerk who just looked at me. Finally said he’d tell general manager who we never heard from. Staff was only available from 8-8, restaurant had limited hours. No breakfast the second day but nobody available to tell. You’d get better service at a best western.
