Our stay at The Northey Arms was absolutely fantastic! The place is beautifully maintained, with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the food was simply delicious. We loved the breakfast! We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone. Great hotel with an excellent family room for three. Spacious and everything we needed was found in the room (TV, coffee, etc). Also liked the interior very much, the only downside was the frequent train traffic that goes 24/7 (also at 3:30 at night) .

We regularly make the trip to the Northey Arms, although we don't live nearby. The prime reason is the customer service but we always enjoy the food which is varied and tasty. It has a cool garden sheltered by tall trees but can be a sun trap, so the parasols are welcome. The car park is large and convenient. Look forward to visiting again, soon.

Disappointing lunchtime visit to Northey Arms . Sunny so sat in beer garden . Friendly staff . Ordered 2 steak sandwiches 1 chips & pint and half of cider - £35 !!! WOW Spotted an advance 10% Service Charge was payable before any drink / food consumed . Just So Glad I spotted this and chose not to pay as we had to send the inedible steak back to the kitchen as it was such a poor quality cheap fatty cut of meat which the waitress confirmed . Overpriced and over rated definitely not 5 star won’t be returning .

We really enjoyed our stay at the Northey Arms Inn for 3 nights last month. Clean room, comfy bed and good level access to all areas of the building. Menu was limited for dinner in our opinion but food was very tasty and served hot when required. A plentiful breakfast set us up for the day before setting out. There are plenty of places to visit and Bath is a delight as always. All the staff where cheerful, helpful and full of local information. We would stay again when down that way.

We booked a Saturday lunch for 50th Wedding Anniversary for eight. The reception we received from the staff was amazing. Although the restaurant was packed, including an additional party of 16, we were never ignored or rushed. The food was excellent. My Daughter in Law, who is vegan, commented that the choice was especially good. We experienced a very relaxed four to five hours in pleasant surroundings and looked after by an extremely professional team who were intent on making a very special day EXTRA special. Maddie has a team that reflects the character of an English pub as it should be, good food, good beer & wines and staff that provide a welcome with their friendly service. (The stunning cake was a very nice touch) Thank you.

We are so lucky to have a revamped Public House in our neighbourhood with some really delightful staff. The several meals we have eaten in the past few months have been absolutely delicious. Thank you to everyone for making this a place where we can visit often and be sure of a great welcome. Looking forward to becoming a constant habitue.

We stayed 3 nights in the superior double room which was located to the rear of the main building. The room was comfortable, if a little compact and would benefit from less accessorization, given the limited space. Light sleepers may find the location of the hotel challenging as the railway could be heard clearly and the room vibrated with any heavy traffic. That said it didn't bother us. Servicing of our room was a challenge in that it was non existent. We had dinner twice in the restaurant and the food was fabulous with a wide variety on the menu to choose from. Breakfast was also excellent. Service could be a little slow. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and on the whole, a good experience.

I am delighted to be able to say that our night away from pets, teenager and elderly parent was excellent in every way. During our occasional escape trips, we have sometimes been impressed with a room, we might have enjoyed the food once or twice and on very rare visits to pubs and hotels the service has been above average. However, for the first time ever this accommodation ticked every box. The Northey Arms in Box is a pub with staff that actually seem pleased to see you. In this review I can write words for service that I thought would never again be used post pandemic. Efficient, friendly and courteous are three. The warm welcome everyone received on a cold January evening was infectious, creating a convivial atmosphere where everyone chatted and smiled. We loved it. The room too was not what we call a Marlborough pub experience. Instead it was comfortable, opulent, without being fussy, and a genuine treat. We were so impressed with the decor, especially the spacious bathroom, that we photographed the room and intend to steal some of the design ideas. I had read reviews that complained about noise, but the windows double glazing cut out most of the sounds from passing traffic and there was definitely not a peep from the kitchen’s extractor fan. I would advise everyone who manages pubs and hotels to spend some time at this establishment. You could learn a great deal.
