We booked a xmas package arrived on the 24th of December for 3 nights, it's a small hotel with beautiful gardens and roaring fires, the staff were very friendly, special mention to Harry, Ben & Liz who were very professional, the food was exquisite & excellent service, however we were given a top room in the attic, the bedroom was reasonable size but the bathroom was tiny with low beams, we couldn't avoid banging on to the beams on several occasions, which is not acceptable for £500 a night, they had two unoccupied rooms so I don't know why they gave us that particular one,the dining room lacked atmosphere because the way they take bookings, few times we were the only couple in the dining room, on xmas day I had to ask them for festive music, if you like quiet & formal stay it's a ideal hotel, there was no entertainment over three days either.
