If you’re looking for a clean quiet place to stay , it’s cosy & home from home… look no further! stayed here for two nights , Julie and Russell very good hosts , breakfast perfect …would definitely come back again thank you very much… parking not a problem free parking on the road and there are available spaces with the The Guest House shop are just a few minutes walk down the road, various restaurants and bars ideal for couples Dave

The guest house was in a perfect location close to a pub, cinema/theatre and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. An excellent freshly cooked breakfast was served alongside cereals, fruit, yoghurt and toast etc. The hosts helped make our stay even better. Russell and Julie are very friendly and do their best to make your stay enjoyable. A return is definitely on the cards. Thank you for all you done Russell & Julie.

Great small and friendly guest house located close to everything in Bowness with free parking. Nice rooms with comfortable beds adequate shower room plus tea and coffee facilities. Lovely cooked English breakfast served with a smile and chat. We stayed two nights over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the heart of the Lake District. We would definitely recommend and use The Melbourne guest house again.

Very pleasant stay over 2 nights at this guest house. Arrived earlier than planned and was met by Russell the owner. Made welcome. Room on top floor, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast very good. Overall facilities and location made this a really enjoyable weekend break. Would definitely return.

The perfect B&B. Great location and B&B was lovey, had everything we need. I only spoke to Julie on the phone but she makes a great breakfast and Russell was the perfect host. A short walk down to the lake, shops and pubs, bonus that we were able to park our car in one of their reserved spaces. A great B&B we will certainly book again and highly recommend.

Spotlessly clean, very welcoming and friendly hosts. Massive choice at breakfast, beautifully presented. Extremely helpful, nothing too much trouble. Lovely comfy bed and pillows. Perfectly placed to walk in to Windermere or Bowness.

Lovely guest house, bedroom wasn't very big but was adequate. Everything was clean . The breakfast was fab . And the hosts really friendly. The guest house is in a great location. Would definitely go back there. A big thank you for a very pleasant stay

Fantastic stay yet again at The Melbourne. Julie and Russell are the perfect hosts. The rooms are really comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are outstanding and one of the best we have had in The Lake District. So much choice, from a full english, to fresh fruit, yoghurts, toast and croissants. Tea, coffee and fruit juice is freely available. Nothing is too much trouble and it’s like being in a home away from home, we absolutely love this place. Helen and David from York

Quaint little guest house ideally situated close to the town. Everything at hand within minutes of walking distance. Friendly host. Comfortable room. Breakfast ample, lovely little breakfast room and great service. Would recomened and would stay again..
