The cottage is very nice and has all you need for a pleasant stay. In case you need something and/or want some ideas what to do/where to go, Tichy ( Patricia) and Richard are ready to help. But the best thing about this cottage is it's LOCATION : starting from the cottage you can start kicking, cycling and you can visit a lot of little beautifull little towns, castles/mannors, gardens, ... after only a 30 min. drive. Oxford, Blenheim, the birthplace of Shakespeare, ... are within a 60 min. drive. We really loved the Cotswolds. PS: It is correct what you read about Burton-on-the-water : it is by far too touristic, unless you visit it before 10:00 AM. But if you walk/cycle just for 5 minutes from it's "city center" you have the country side, the little beautiful villages, ... for your own.

A Peaceful Haven In The Cotswolds
What a beautiful cottage in the Cotswolds. Complete with a loft to view the fields this cottage has it all. Well stocked and spacious with ample crockery, glasses, board games and more. A lovely 10 minute walk takes you to the village along a beautiful little lane way that passes a churchyard and peaceful cemetery.Richard was more than accomodating and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed (which we did!)WiFi was good and beds were warm and comfortable. Outside area was perfect for afternoon drinks and listening to the birds. Also a lot of amazing history to the farm which is worth reading about.Highly recommend this lovely cottage retreat for long or short stays. We'll definitely be back again as a place to wind down and relax. We only wished we had stayed longer!Thank you Richard and Tishy

Comfortable well appointed property
Well equipped, comfortable and homely, with everything you might need for a break away. In beautiful countryside with excellent walks straight from the door, whilst only 5 minutes or so walk to the village. We definitely hope to return some time.

Sarah
Had a super stay, all the home from home comforts provided and a thoughtful welcome gift of cheese, biscuits, milk and a cupboard full of tea and coffee. Great location for walking into the town to enjoy the shops, cafes and pubs. Lots of information provided in the house about local walks and activities.

For our purposes, this property served us very well. We were able to visit with family by easy drives to and from. We enjoyed having everything on one level in the cottage as my husband has mobility issues. Our only concern was the mattresses on the beds were not quite firm enough for us tall folks with back issues. The kitchen is well supplied for just about any type of meal prep. We did have trouble figuring out the laundry machine, and were told that the dryer part was not working well. Again, due to mobility issues, it was great having a walk in shower. There is no tub which didn't concern us at all. Grocery shopping is conveniently located just a few minutes away by car. On the main road there is a gas/petrol station right at the end of Cemetery Land. Attached to it is a laundry which we did use for a quick wash, dry fold service the day before we left. Parking around the town is EXTREMELY limited which for us was an inconvenience, again due to mobility issues. There is a terrific restaurant/pub in Northleach, the next town to the south of Bourton. It's called the Wheatsheaf Inn on the main street. Highly recommend. Richard was extremely helpful finding us a place in Cheltenham to get a replacement battery for my phone. We were lucky with mostly great weather during our stay, and had a wonderful time visiting family.
