While on our road trip we stayed here for two nights to give us easy access to PEl for a day trip. We were considerably early yet were welcomed by Marko and his beautiful dog Tundra with big smiles and enthusiasm. We were in Log Point, the detached accommodation, Marko had upgraded us as he had availability and we had the entire house to ourselves. The room was beautifully presented and very comfortable with a seating area, king bed (super comfy) & a large bathroom with a jet tub and two sinks. Downstairs is a communal lounge with large windows that overlook the water, the most beautiful view. We slept well and joined Marko for breakfast at the main house. The breakfast is freshly cooked to your requirements, was plenty & at $15.50 per person was also reasonable. The restaurant was closed when we were there and Marko had kindly advised us of this beforehand so each day we would plan to eat out before returning, as we were there to explore the area this was not an issue. Marko is super friendly, knowledgable and passionate about the area, he js always willing to offer advice on where to go/ eat/ see etc. Tundra was a delight and seeing her friendly face each morning was delightful. Thank you Marko and Tundra for a lovely, albeit brief, visit and we hope to see you again.

We stayed at the Little Shemogue inn for one night in September, 2022. The inn is dog-friendly and we felt privileged to be welcomed into such a gorgeous inn with our 2 dogs. The setting is beautifully tranquil, and the interiors are lovely. Each room is different. Ours had 2 double beds plus a little twin bed, a bathroom with tub and shower, and a comfortable chair. Breakfast was prepared to order in the morning, and it was very pleasant to share conversations around the table with the other guests. The host was very friendly and helpful, and even told us how to get to a nearby beach area where we could let the dogs play in the water. I wish we had planned to stay for more than one night there, and we will definitely return.

Traveling from Halifax or PEI to Montreal or the other way round, and think that Little Shemogue Inn would be a great place to stop? Well think again! Considering breakfast, lunch or dinner in quaint Shemogue or at the Inn so conveniently situated on the highway? Don’t! Slam the accelerator instead and clear out while you can!!! Our family of four made the enormous mistake of booking one night at Little Shemogue Inn - the sorriest excuse for a 4-star rating I’ve ever seen. We should have known that in summer, as soon as you leave the safety of your car to search for the hotel host, you would be devoured alive by swarms of persistently aggressive mosquitoes, and why? Because Little Shemogue Inn is nicely located in a swamp of all places! Swamps attract mosquitoes and so do unsuspecting Tripadvisor-booking hotel guests! We are used to finding good accommodations and we are always ready to pay top dollar for them, but this was nothing less than an overpriced scam masquerading as European-inspired class. Fascinatingly, there seemed to be more voracious mosquitoes inside the room than outside, especially in the evening, but if you ventured outside, they seemed more plentiful outside, and if again sought refuge in your room, they appeared more numerous than before! For those of you apiarists, you would not have been happier because, aside from rock hard beds, dingy room, frightening washroom and shower area, not to mention off-kilter door frames, there was a lovely and grandiose hornets’ nest around 35 cm in height, strategically placed on the most inviting terrace overlooking the swamp on the one side, and the admittedly lovely water view directly in front. You could have studied it all you wanted but it posed a clear danger that the Inn completely ignored. The excitable concierge called Debbie, touted a tantalizingly sophisticated European dinner and dessert but it turned out to be a rather ordinary and stodgy oven broiled meat and vegetable dish thing which at least was edible and did not send us to hospital. The funny thing, if you can call it ‘funny’, were the odd comments Debbie made throughout our dining experience that seemed entirely inspired by her evidently and thoroughly ingrained, shall we say ‘down-to-earth’ or perhaps ‘agricultural’ ‘upbringing’. Truly, it was difficult to catch any slumber during our unfortunate sojourn ‘adventure’ because the beds were structured with iron bars that pressed themselves into your spinal column, reminiscent of Medieval serfdom. The best thing about Little Shemogue Inn was escaping from it!

The house was stunning and very clean. Although we got eaten alive by the bugs outside it was in a nice surrounding area. The only issue we had with staff was that after breakfast we were told that we hadn't paid which we thought we had so when we were handed the debit machine we meant to only tip on the breakfast but ended up tipping on the whole amount which cost a lot more than we wanted to.

I can only,in all honesty, leave a review for one room because thats all we experienced. We stayed 2 nights. The three of us stayed in the new annex across the foot bridge, the blue suite with the king bed and single bed. I love the inside of the building. Its very homey and has an upscale lodge feel to it. It was also very quiet. The two unpleasant things for us were, the bed was VERY firm BUT we have a preferance of soft beds. Also know that these are marshland/costal areas in the maritimes so the mosquitos are vicious. No walking or sitting around outside for us! WE RUN! Excluding those two things it was great stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.
