Thoroughly disappointed with our stay, many reasoning to this which I don't believe I'll be able to fit into this review. Firstly the room, when we arrived we were charmed by the area And quirky features of the building, unfortunately this charm came to an end very abruptly, the bed felt like concrete and was very uncomfortable, the slightest bit of movement caused the bed to make horrendous squeaking. The room as a whole was quite small, and as per previous reviews I have seen, is in fact cluttered with furniture. During our stay unfortunately the restaurant was closed, this information was provided on the conformation email, however, is stated after October but does not say what year or to when it would reopen daily, we were then recommended 2 places for an evening meal, which was the most horrific meal we've ever had. The shower is awful and doesnt hold a temperature, the water stream is pathetic and the showerhead kept falling off when the water was running so was unable to have an evening shower, this is also to repeat previous reviews which have been stating this exact problem for 3 years! As per previous reviews, the breakfast is indefinitely dated and needs a whole new menu, the ordering of breakfast the previous night is also a strange thing which I have never encountered in any hotel I have stayed in, aswell as the fact that my partner had picked 2 things on the menu which was later stayed to be unavailable! When we booked we stated it was our anniversary which was only mentioned upon checkout, also when booking it was stated there were only 2 rooms available a double or a triple, now we don't have the need for a triple room so went for the double, when we went up to our room after our dinner, we noticed a vacant room (this was not the triple room) with the door open which only from the doorway it looked much more spacious and comfortable. In the room we were provided with tea and coffee and glasses for tap water which was really cloudy and the first glass filled had black pieces in the water, when thinking of requesting bottled water, we quickly realised there was nobody at the reception. I will say that the gent who handed us our keys was genuinely lovely and helpful. The stream outside our window was calming and gorgeous. I think all n all the whole place needs a refurb and to look at the reviews stating issues as they seem to be getting ignored. Having a bar area open or even dinner within a timeslot for residents only, could improve a whole lot.

I’ve had a nice cream tea in my time but this was the icing on the cake! Totes amazeballs!! We loved it! Hit the spot and more! Beautiful place, great service and lovely scones!! Loved Boscastle, the witchy museum and this ended the day perfectly, The service was top notcher and the grand finale was my six year old being shown the beautiful bridge and feeding the ducks! ❤️

We were passing by and thought we would try this Restaurant/cafe for a latish lunch. We all (4) ate something different and the food was excellent. The ladies serving were very friendly and helpful. We had a main course and a pudding/cake. The carrot cake I had was delicious . We sat inside but there is a lovely terrace overlooking the river if you want to be outside.

Clean spacious room, breakfast and Sunday carvery was tasty and hot. Friendly staff, helpful, comfortable and would return. Views were beautiful and the hotel was in an ideal location. Car park is 2 minutes from the hotel, it costs 6.30 for 24hrs. We stayed in a double room number 15.

A spontaneous overnight stay. It was a lovely night. Beautiful sunset. Check in was very welcoming and efficient. We liked our room. No view of the river but it was spacious, clean and tidy. We had dinner. It was very nice. Enjoyed the complimentary parsnips skins. Yum. Probably a tad overpriced I'd say. We paid £75 for the 2 of us. That was a main and dessert each with 1 drink each. The only slight disappointment was the breakfast. I had granola and yoghurt for starter and avacado and poached eggs on toast. The starter need some kind of fit compost with it. It was very dry and quute tasteless. The main also was not that tasty. There was lemon in the avacodo which would be lovely but needs to be balanced with abit of salt. My decaf coffee had a strange taste. May of been the brand but I couldn't drink it. Overall though, this is a lovely place. The river was lovely. Watching all the ducks in the rapids. We would stay again.

Had a lovely dinner with very friendly and efficient service. Menu was reasonably priced and varied. Interior was bright and inviting. Seemed to have a local following. Would definitely return. I think best to reserve a table in advance for dinner. It was quite busy even though Boscastle appeared to be quiet.
