If you like animals and get heart broken by the state they are left in don't go hear. A beautiful old big dog was left in a pen near our cabin number 1 all week, there was cleerly noone who came over to feed him and let him out of the pen for a run. This dog looked hungry and poorly he was super friendly, there's no reason for him to be left there in the cold like that when other dogs where running around. If you do stay hear witch I wouldn't recommend please feed him, and stroke him he s so so nice and friendly. Generally a pretty poor place to stay, customer service was bad. And pretty much everything in the cabin was broken. We don't expect much and are very easy going people but people are just rude hear and that dog was heartbreaking. And there's definitely not unlimited shuttle bus. The only good thing was it was warm and showers where hot.

Very nice and clean cabins (houses) private bathroom shower, we got extra room for kids, wooden house gives you the perfect feeling in the forest.Don't waste your holiday in hotels. 0 noise, reception lady was very kind, free parking 24h , rent a car because borovets is 30min walk or more. By car is 5 min.The restaurant was not the best experience, the waitresses acted like they don't want to do their job, they forgot our dessert and didnt accept card. The resort is 5stars

So after traveling most of the day, we arrived late Christmas eve, after checking in we went straight to the restaurant to see if we could grab something to eat. The young girl serving was friendly. And offered to make us some cheesey chips. Which were lovely, but there was a group of men sat in the corner drinking shots and acting very aggressive. We felt very intimidated. (we found out the next day they were actually staff members) Anyway, we got to our cabin which seemed cosy enough, but we only had a double bed and one single, so we had to make upthe sofa bed ourselves. The next day which was Christmas day we wanted to go to the town to try a bit of Skiing and explore the area, when we asked at reception if we could get the shuttle bus down, which we were informed when booking that there would be free regular shuttle to and from town. we were told by a very rude woman that the shuttle bus only Leaves at 8 and 8.30am. And then returns at 4.30 but if you don't get the shuttle bus in the morning, he won't pick you up in the afternoon. So we had to pay for taxis all week. ( we didn't want to get up so early when on holidays just to be able to get the shuttle bus) we found out later in the week that it leaves that early to go to town as its on his way to pick up the resort staff to start their work day. Anyway when we were booking the holiday we decided to book the "Christmas day feast" at the yagoda restaurant which was at 7pm Christmas day. We sat down at our reserved table which had plates of tomato, cheese and pesto for each person, a basket of bread, some cheese bites and a huge bowl of fruit... This was lovely and we had high expectations for the rest of the "feast", however 2 hours passed by and we were still waiting for the next course.. When this arrived it was 3 tiny pieces of meat, some sort of watery gravy and a mash potato scoop which I could only describe as potato sorbet... There were honestly bits of ice in my mash! At this point other tables were getting up and leaving, then they brought our desert which was a mushy chocolate cake. We were so disappointed we had paid almost £200 for this. A few days into our stay we were left an IKEA bag outside our cabin with clean sheets in. If you ever do decide to ignore the reviews and stay here then please do not make the mistake I made of taking off the duvet covers and cases off the thin lumpy pillows, cause it is horrifying. They are full of yellow and brown stains, it's disgusting. I should also mention that the cabins are self catering...which consists of a 2 ring hob, a fridge, 4 saucer size plates, 2 mugs, 1 saucepan and 1 frying pan. There really isn't enough self catering amenities available in the cabin. This place has so much potential and could be a 5 star resort as the surroundings are beautiful. But everything inside the cabins would need ripping out and started again... Especially those duvets and pillows!!!!! We will deffinatly visit borovets again, but we will be steering

We stayed here for a week. The location is quite nice, and the general cabin vibe is also nice. However the quality of the cabins and the level of service are quite poor. The kitchen in the cabin was exceptionally poorly equipped, with so little in the way of utensils and pans etc as to make it almost impossible to actually use. The beds were very uncomfortable with very poor quality mattresses. I'm not snobby about mattress quality, but bare springs in your back doesn't make for a good night's sleep. The quality of fittings was very shoddy and bare wiring poking from gaps in the walls and ceilings were common. Not ideal if you have pets or kids. The underfloor heating in the downstairs was broken and stuck on full power, making sleeping in the downstairs bed very uncomfortable (the bed would feel actively hot under you) and made leaving lots of items such electronics on the floor a bad idea. The reception desk were dismissive and unhelpful. e.g. when I called to ask if they had a phone number for a taxi (my return airport transfer let me down), they simply hung up the phone. Twice. The food in the restaurant was mostly good to be fair, but the service in the restaurant was poor. On one occasion half of my meal had arrived with no sign of the other half (the two halves really needed to be eaten together). After a little while I asked how long it might be and the waitress just shrugged and said different parts of it take different amounts of time, and that it would probably be ten more minutes. The second half of my meal eventually arrived but was already cold (as was the first half by now) - something I found confusing since they were aware I was waiting and asking for it. Overall I wouldn't stay here again. The venue gives the impression that it stopped having money invested in it some years ago and is essentially in managed decline. It's a shame since there is a lot of potential. New more interested management could really make something of this place, but in its current state it's a no-go for me despite the attractive price - which now makes much more sense

Half the heating didn't work, so they had supplied a couple of electric heaters, which, when the temperature outside dropped below -15C, they weren't enough.... in fact, the water supply to the toilet froze and wouldn't fill the cistern, so we had to flush by filling a bucket and throwing it in! We were self-catering, and we were supplied with one saucepan and no utensils! The shuttle bus was hit and miss, so be prepared to walk or take taxis. The beds were comfortable enough, but nowhere to hang anything. The shower was hot and powerful, but the clip for the shower head was broken, and if you took too long, it would flood due to the drainage. The onsite restaurant was actually pretty good and cheaper than town.

We stayed at Yagoda part, which is nicer than Malina. The cottage has one big room with a double bed, one tiny room for two children (separated by a curtain, no door), a mini-kitchen (with all necessary equipment and crockery) and a shower/toilet. It is very quiet and cosy inside. With curtains closed we could sleep very long :) . There are few things that could be improved: apparently some guests smoke inside, so there was a little odour, but it was not strong (maybe it was a while ago). The electric wiring does not seem to be proper and safe, there are some wire connections near the toilet and shower, some outlets do not work.

Pleasant experience, great for group fo friends. Nice cabins in the woods, very warm and cozy, some of them have private sauna but you need to ask in adition about it. Food in the restaurant is nice and the whole surrounding is beautiful, small villas are very charming spread around the trees. Pleasant during all seasons.
