Lovely location right by the harbourside. Friendly staff, parking available at no extra cost. Restaurant was average, food should be served hot. No tea snd coffee in rooms.. this should be available. Rooms nice and clean bsthroom a little dated. sunsets wonderful.

Staff was not exactly welcoming, more like putting up with you as an annoyance. No a/c so windows were open as it was hot and with no screens meant flies and mosquitoes buzzing around the room all night. Small fan was provided. No refrigerator, very plain (blah) unattractive room. If you had accessibility issues you would have had trouble getting to guest room. We are driving Scandinavia for 3 weeks and this was the worst property we stayed at to date. Like an old-folks retirement facility.

If you have food allergies, I would advise against visiting this restaurant. Despite ordering gluten-free food, we were served food that contained gluten. Additionally, the children's meal we ordered for our child had an excessive amount of salt. Overall, our experience at the restaurant was not good due to poor service. Furthermore, the response from the managers was unsatisfactory, as it was a standard response and did not address our concerns effectively.

Nice place, but in need of an upgrade. Nice room on the side of the building, quiet and with ocean view. Nice restaurant og nice staff. Location: right next to the beach. Somewhat expensive and very large facility

Borgholm is a nice town and the Strand has a great location. We booked a family room in August and based on pictures we expected beach time as well as touring the island. The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning. Our room was city view and even with the shades drawn all day the early sunrise baked the room even when peak outdoor temp was low 70s. Pictures of large beach and volleyball must have been from years ago. Between the nice deck and the beach was 20 yards of dirt & grass. The beach is 10 - 20 feet of course sand. Breakfast bar was fine but did not compare to Clarion in Stockholm for example. Overall the appearance and amenities were a bit dated and showing wear, and not worth the price.

Decided to eat in the hotel since we were staying there. Ordered starters and mains, however the mains came before the starters. We then proceeded to wait for 2.5 hours for the mains which appeared to be reheated versions which were offered 1.5 hours earlier. We understand the difficulties that kitchens now face but a little sympathy with the guests or even, dare I suggest, an apology for the delay would have gone a long way. Instead I got the impression the problems were all of our own making because we dared to order a meal. Never again.

Spartanskt, slitet och men fint läge
Egentligen - supertrevlig men hotellet lämnade mkt att önska.
Slitet, spartanskt, inga hyllor till necessären i badrummet, endast en tvål/dusch/schampo kombinerad = ingen duschkräm eller bodylotion, väldigt liten TV, ingen mapp med "Välkommen till Strand hotell och här är Wifi, här är menyn i restaurangen, inget block och penna etc "
Buffén på kvällen för 595:-/pers. var väldigt ynklig.... Herregud - vi var på Stufvenäs idag 21/4 och åt lunchbuffé för 395 Den var sååå fin och god. I jämförelse med hotellets buffé för nästan 600:- Nä, galet!
Men, personalen var väldigt tillmötesgående, hjälpsam och trevlig. Och, det var väldigt trevligt med lilla påsen med skumkaniner och Glad påsk hälsning på sängen när vi kom.
Men, poolen var härlig och vi hade trevligt tiölsammans med våra vänner i Borgholm.
