Hotels Near port of the Moon in Bordeaux

Suitable for friends to live together, health is OK, facilities are complete but not very advanced, the hotel location is not very central, the room window is very strange, looking at the yard dark and invisible dawn

Even though beddings pillows duvet bedsheets are comfy and clean there is no AC on the bedroom, no vent, no fan and in Bordeaux at 36 degrees at night it’s impossible to sleep. Cleanliness is not at its best either in private bathroom. I had some rubbish inside my locker from previous guest and breakfast has no lactose free or gluten free option but oranges. Staff are nice and helpful but not too much.. at checkin the young man told me he’s not allowed to be too friendly with guest…?!? Prices are fine and the terrace comfortable.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base to visit Bordeaux. From the outside the hotel does not look like much and google maps took us through a questionable part of town to get here. Less central than the centre would imply this hotel is about 15-minute walk from the main part of Bordeaux however it is very close to the tram and a shopping centre/mall. The room was comfortable and a typical size room for novotel. The hotel internally looks recently renovated and have a reusable water bottle system in place however its only 1 per room and there was 2 of us.

We have stayed in the hotel before as we have family nearby. We went out for dinner and came back to our key fob not working and we were unable to get back into our room. We called the emergency number on the door as the reception is closed between 7pm and 7am and there are no hotel employees on the premises during this time. We spoke to a guardian who spoke no English and poor French who told us that he would do a security round around midnight but we would have to stay outside until then - it was 8.30pm! We said that this was impossible and that we needed to get back into the room, to which he told us that it was not his problem. After a 30 minute discussion he got us to open a key safe and take another room card and said we should stay in another room for the night - obviously not a solution as we had medication in the room that needed to be taken, to which he replied it wasn't his problem and we should have taken it with us to dinner. At this point we asked to speak to a supervisor and threatened a formal complaint. He finally accepted to make the 30 minute drive to the hotel from where he was but when he got here had no idea how to open the room. It took another hour to find a solution. Although the reception the next morning agreed that this was unacceptable and the receptionist was understanding, we have decided to go elsewhere and we are yet to see a reimbursement for this terrible customer service.

The hotel is beautifuly maintained, the staff is great. Continental reakfast at 10 euros is ok but fruits could be improved a bit. I was grateful that they were willing to go find me gluten free bread. Perhaps you could add a few more items to the continental breakfast. Guests should be aware of the location of this hotel. It is a long walk to downtown and while there is a tram within 15 minute walking distance, we did not feel very safe in this area. Not recommend you walk around after dark.

We have stayed here before, around three years ago, and it was a tired hotel then, so even more so now does it need modernising. The good bits first: the bed was comfortable and the receptionist supplied me with two extra pillows upon request. The not so good bits: the room needs a complete overhaul. The fabric is old and grim. The floor needed a good clean. The bathroom fittings are rusted from age and, my goodness, the toilet would benefit from a gallon of bleach being thrown down it and left for a week. Gross, I think is the word. (Room 102). In these days of Covid-19 precautions, people in France are required to wear masks in hotels, restaurants etc and there were notices advising the regulation. However, the receptionist was not wearing one when we booked in. He was wearing one the following morning, but under his chin! Again, because of Covid-19 we expected the breakfast trays to be made up for as we chose our items. No, the items were still displayed on plates and baskets, for everyone to breathe over them and touch them as they made their selection. Bear in mind that many guests did not have masks on and were not prompted to wear them. Well, when the receptionist doesn't wear one, or wears it improperly, what can he say? Sadly our last stay here at a Premiere Classe (and we are fans of the chain), which is in a superb area for visiting the beautiful Bordeaux.

We were travelling from the UK to Portugal with our two dogs and this hotel was great for an overnight stop. We stayed here twice; once on the way and again on the way back. For the return journey, we were allocated a ground floor room overlooking the back of the hotel, which was just perfect for us. The hotel was very easy to find, had secure free parking and a small grass area for our dogs to exercise. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a drinks machine and vending machine in the reception area along with a microwave that you could use. The only downside was that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room; not a problem for us as we had brought our own kettle, mugs, tea bags and milk. We were very pleased we chose this hotel and will definitely stay again.

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and is very comfortable. I stayed together with my partner at your hotel in Merignac last week the nights of the 29th and 30th of October. The night of the 30th we came back to the hotel around 22:30 p.m. and the reception was closed, so we used our card to open the main entrance of the hotel. Unfortunately, the card was not working as the door did not open. We tried several times to call the number which appeared in the front door, but no one replied. Suddenly some customers who were inside the hotel appeared and they opened us the front door. They told us that they have faced same issue; they could not open the front door. Additionally, they could not open their bedroom door, as the card was not working. We tried as well to open our bedroom door, but same issue happened, the card did not work. We were around two hours trying to reach someone from the hotel to solve this unpleasant situation, but we had no response at all. We were checking numbers of different Nemea hotels. We talked to both Lyon and Toulouse hotels, but they told us that they could not help us. They were stating that they were independent hotels and that they had no relationship between each other. We really felt abandoned and the whole situation was very unpleasant. We did as well call the police as we were desperate to solve this issue. As we had no response whatsoever from the hotel, we decided at around 0:15 a.m. to leave Nemea and search another hotel to spend the night. We needed to get a sleep. Same did the family that were with us in the reception. Moreover, they had two young daughters. Next morning, we went into the Nemea reception to explain the whole situation. The response we got from the man in the reception was to write an email to the following email account: merignac-stadium@nemea.fr. We did not accept so as we wanted a compensation on that same day. After that they agreed to pay us for the new hotel room we booked. This was not acceptable, and we required to compensate for the lost time, the several calls we did, the medication I was not able to take, and all the inconveniences caused. Finally, we got paid the hotel night at Ibis plus the Smartbox value. Finally, we would like to take the chance for you to recheck the internal policies on how you control the security as well as the emergency numbers in case any technological damage arises. A customer cannot be left abandoned as it has been done in this case.
