Behind its unassuming front door this Maison d'Hote is a calm and peaceful space. Our room (Royale) was spacious and tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable. It had had tea and coffee making facilities as well and breakfast, served in our room, was great with fresh produce from the market. The surrounding area was very lively at the weekend but we felt quite safe. The Capuchin Market was close by and there are plenty of restaurants within a 15 minute walk. Our host, Georges, did his utmost to ensure we enjoyed our stay and gave us several ideas on where to go and what to eat - a highlight was the Bassin des Lumieres. We'd certainly stay there again next time we visit Bordeaux.

What a lovely haven of peace and tranquillity behind such an unassuming door! Georges was a perfect host and gave us heaps of info about what to do during our short stay in Bordeaux from places to see to where to eat or find a mint tea. We followed his advice and had a wonderful day and evening in the city. Our room was very tastefully and artfully decorated with great attention to detail and also spotlessly clean. Breakfast was served in our room and was amazing - beautifully presented and delicious. We'll certainly be back but for two nights next time!

Walking into La Parenthese was like an oasis. Georges, our host warmly welcomed us. Taking the time to not only introduce us to our outstanding apartment but also ensuring we had solid directions to restaurants & the key sights of Bordeaux.

Very warm welcome from Georges. Lovely and spacious room, great decor and very quiet. Good breakfast, excellent service and communication. I only stayed one night but would not hesitate to come back for longer stays. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Royal room. It was easy to get around on public transport , just remember to charge your card at a tram stop. Breakfast for 15€ was great, fresh bread, croissants, fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit and yogurt. The room had the fixings for coffer and tea. Georges was very helpful and friendly, with good advice on the Bordeaux sights. Room was clean and large, very nice bathroom and great AC.

C’est un très joli endroit chaleureux et où on est très bien accueillis. La décoration est soigneusement choisie et extrêmement propre. Tous les détails le prouvent. La cerise sur le gâteau, c’est le cas de le dire, c’est le petit déjeuner préparé quasiment avec Amour par le propriétaire, George. Merci beaucoup pour votre accueil.

Une chambre magnifique, romantique et confortable ! J'ai adoré mon petit passage dans cette maison d'hôtes tenu par Georges qui est très accueillant et plein de bons conseils. La maison est très bien située, j'y suis allé à pied depuis la gare. La chambre est très belle avec une grande baignoire et une très grande douche. La literie est de très bonne qualité. J'ai adoré les murs en pierre. C'était très calme. Les oreillers sont très bien également. J'ai apprécié aussi (ça peut paraître bête), les toilettes séparées. On sent bien l'attention aux détails dans la maison. Je recommande totalement.
