Our experience was awful. The hotel is dirty, the staff is rude, the room layout is like an old college dorm from the 1960's. The plans in the courtyard are not real, they are dusty and dirty...just he the chandelier in our room, I'm thinking the chandelier was las cleaned in the year 1994. The bathroom has a toilet in the middle so no privacy, there are no bathroom amenities, so you do need to bring you own shampoo and conditioner, the room has no air conditioning and no telephone. (There is a note that you need to call to place your breakfast order in advance...however no phone). The front desk is staffed by a group of 24 to 27 year olds who are completely clueless and offer no assistance. Hospitality is not their thing. Although our stay was one night, I'd have to stay after 3 weeks traveling across France this was the worst hotel stay we had. My advice is to find another hotel in Bordeaux.

The hotel rooms are contained within an old building originally owned by wine merchants. After parking our car nearby, we presented our ticket and received a 50% discount. The room was at the top of a flight of stairs, equipped with double glazing, a small kitchenette and bathroom with a shower. We really enjoyed the spacious nature of this room and the sense of history within the walls. The mattress was a little uncomfortable and the hotel owners had forgotten to provide knives, forks and a separate cutting knife. In addition, the shower drained away very, very slowly which made the experience quite unpleasant for the second person to take one! Reception were delightful all round. We would consider returning, despite these issues. A lovely, atmospheric stay.

This hotel is great If you do not have a car You don’t mind breaking a leg when entering 3 foot bathtub with shower curtains on 2 sides Or you don’t mind talking to rude people Otherwise its great The building looks charming The elevator will hold you luggage but not you Oh well…

We spent two nights at L'Hotel Particulier and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our spacious and comfortable room overlooked the peaceful interior courtyard. The hotel is convenient to transit and all the sites, shops, and restaurants of the historic city center. Car/taxi access is a bit more complicated since it is within a primarily pedestrian zone, but still manageable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Definitely recommend.

We had 4 nights at the Hotel Particulier and could not have been happier. We stayed in the Victorie room overlooking the beautiful courtyard. It was sensational. Really nice room with all of the amenities, and a lot of space to spare. Honestly cannot speak highly enough about the staff, they were really nice and friendly, and extremely helpful.

I’ll start with the positive: this is a great location, most everything is walkable and a tram stop is just down the street for places that are not. Plenty of hot water and comfortable bed. Receptionists are friendly and helpful. And now the less positive: we stayed in a “Superior Studio.” The fisheye-lens photos are deceiving: the room is much smaller, especially the shower and sink area. The room needs renovation, with peeling and chipped paint and floors that look as if they haven’t been refinished this century. The layout also is unusual. The toilet is right off the kitchenette but the sink and shower are on the other side of the room. After using the toilet, one must walk through the kitchenette and room to get to the sink to wash one’s hands. We didn’t need air conditioning in March but it looked like there is none.

Absolutely perfect location and filled with charm. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff could not have been any more helpful. A very comfortable apartment will everything that was needed. Loved the courtyard which was peaceful and quiet after a day wandering through the city.

The hotel is in a great location. The staff are amazing, we had a power cut on our second night but they managed to pull out all the stops and provide a wonderful breakfast. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel itself is full of charm and character.

We celebrated my husband’s retirement here. Five days of exploring Bordeaux using the excellent City Pass. A quaint building with many older features retained to keep character. Helpful staff and a lovely breakfast but we were always tempted by the Boulangerie around the corner and Sip for breakfast (superb omelette). We had the large, very clean, romantic Pomerol suite. A large high ceilinged bedroom/screened bath and separate WC. A second room to dress, make up and make coffee. We overlooked the street and it was hard to believe the quiet tram passed regularly outside our 3rd floor window. Centrally located to explore all this vibrant city by tram. Must visit Vin du Cite, Bassins and get the train out to St Emillion. Short walk up to the town through vineyards. Highly recommend.
