This hotel is not a hotel. It is more a hostel. At hotel prices. It is dirty. It stank when we got there, of nothing I'd ever experienced before. And I've spent many a night backstage at music festivals. It is hot. It has one window which can be opened and it needs to be open as otherwise you are in a sauna. And that's with the windows facing north. Heaven help those on the other side of the place, no really, I am worried about you. Because of the open window, even with the shutter closed, no air comes in but what you do get is noise, doors slamming all night long, loud horrendous music from their bar. Or you don't shut the shutter and leave the room open at ground level to anyone wanting to dive right in. It is priced at hotel prices. It is not eco. In any way. Being eco means designing a building to be suitable for use in an ecological fashion. This place is badly designed, badly fitted out, has no amenities and is just a cheap and nasty hostel. By the way, we also got bitten by a plague of things from the moment we got there to the moment we left. We should have gone after the first night but you live and learn. Such a fantastic city, this place should be condemned. What a waste of money. The only nice bit is the potager plants and herbs on the rear walkway. Which of course you see quite alot of as you don't want to spend any more time than necessary in the actual room. Oh and we couldn't lock the door from the inside, as it had recently been smashed in.

Breakfast 12 Euro / bit, relatively simple, but balanced nutrition, bread, fruit, milk, coffee, tea, eggs, yogurt. The room is ok, two large beds, a balcony facing the small lake, the room has simple kitchen utensils, you can cook, there is a supermarket downstairs. In the evening, we also made hot pot on the balcony. Of course, ingredients and induction cookers should be purchased in Chinese supermarkets. The bathroom area is also OK, the bath water is very hot, and it is quite uncomfortable for the fatigue of the day. The parking lot downstairs is also quite big, next to a small lake, running well in the morning. The overall surrounding environment is quiet and suitable for rest.

If you don’t have a car this place is not for you. It’s out of the way for public transport. There are quite a few restaurants dotted about within a five minutes drive but not really anything within walking distance. There’s a big shopping centre too with an Auchan for supplies. We had a car and used this hotel for a base for visiting lots of different cities, towns etc and was brilliantly located for us. The plentiful and free parking was an extra bonus. Check in was easy and staff friendly. Room was bigger than expected and clean. There was plenty of utensils, plates etc to use in the small kitchenette. Everything was a bit dated but in good order. The only two problems were that there was no shower curtain/screen and the fuse box on the wall had no cover so looked ugly. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was a good place to use as a base. Overall the place was perfectly fine for the price as long as you aren’t using public transport. Nothing special but worth the price paid

We stayed here for 3 nights as a base to visit Bordeaux. From the outside the hotel does not look like much and google maps took us through a questionable part of town to get here. Less central than the centre would imply this hotel is about 15-minute walk from the main part of Bordeaux however it is very close to the tram and a shopping centre/mall. The room was comfortable and a typical size room for novotel. The hotel internally looks recently renovated and have a reusable water bottle system in place however its only 1 per room and there was 2 of us.

We stayed here last weekend. From arrival to departure, we found the staff to be extremely friendly and professional. We arrived towards the end of service for dinner on Saturday but this wasn’t a problem, we were served efficiently and the food was superb. Choice was a little limited - just three choices for each course - but this wasn’t a problem for us as we all found something we liked. Breakfast was excellent though a little pricey, to be honest. 16€ Per person for a breakfast? Rooms were as you would always expect in a Novotel. Very clean and the comfiest bed and pillows. If I have a slight negative it would be to say that I think the public areas, which are beautiful, are maintained to a higher standard than the rooms (paint chipped off of toilet door and blistered plaster above the shower) but I really am splitting hairs here. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would be delighted to returm

The hotel is beautifuly maintained, the staff is great. Continental reakfast at 10 euros is ok but fruits could be improved a bit. I was grateful that they were willing to go find me gluten free bread. Perhaps you could add a few more items to the continental breakfast. Guests should be aware of the location of this hotel. It is a long walk to downtown and while there is a tram within 15 minute walking distance, we did not feel very safe in this area. Not recommend you walk around after dark.

Arrived ok, no problem so far. Checked in, pay up front - ok, not unheard of… Got to the room, the first thing we saw was a tatty bathroom door. It’s obviously been knocked, and the paintwork damaged, also there was water damage to the bottom. This was explained when we used the shower and the spray went over the floor and pooled below the door. The promised bathtub was included, although no plug. Try having a bath without a plug!! The shower was a hand held spray hooked to the wall at waist height. Bizarre. The mirror was damaged at the bottom, the whole room was rather neglected, although it was clean, so these pieces of damage are obviously being ignored. The bedroom had a comfortable bed, although the room was rather dark and poorly lit. Reading wasn’t easy. There was one armchair, in a room for two people (?), a dining room chair and a wooden stool. Unusual mix. The armchair seat was heavily stained (?!). Not tempting to sit in! Quite why we had two fridges in the room was not apparent. Not many sockets were available, and we could only use the kettle by plugging it in under the television. Which was fine as we couldn’t use the television as the remote had no batteries. The hospitality tray was minimally stocked, and when we asked for milk we were told we could go and buy some as the hotel had no milk. Although there was some at breakfast the following day. No doubt we could have bought new batteries too. When paying €300 for two nights, surely a few tablespoons of milk is not a big ask? It was disappointing that the staff couldn’t be bothered to help with such a small request. Breakfast was ok, no hot food available and it was self service. There was a button operated hot drinks machine, with milk available, mini croissants and pains au chocolat, artisan breads, muesli type mix, fruit, yoghurts, one variety of ham and some very bland cheese. The room felt a bit like a hostel dining room with a big animal mural on the wall and the constant drip from an air conditioning unit onto a towel on the floor. The tables and chairs were clean, but the staff - again - uninterested. A good 20 min walk into Bordeaux, which is a beautiful city. Plenty of good places to eat and pleasant staff there. We will definitely come back to Bordeaux, but definitely not to the Victoria Garden!

We were travelling from the UK to Portugal with our two dogs and this hotel was great for an overnight stop. We stayed here twice; once on the way and again on the way back. For the return journey, we were allocated a ground floor room overlooking the back of the hotel, which was just perfect for us. The hotel was very easy to find, had secure free parking and a small grass area for our dogs to exercise. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a drinks machine and vending machine in the reception area along with a microwave that you could use. The only downside was that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room; not a problem for us as we had brought our own kettle, mugs, tea bags and milk. We were very pleased we chose this hotel and will definitely stay again.

GGuest UserWe visited Bordeaux for the first time for a family wedding. I must say the location of the hotel was excellent, cleanliness of a very high standard, but most of all very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The breakfast was nice, albeit at €15 each not the cheapest for a family of 5. The reception staff booked our taxis for the airport and the chateau for the wedding with little fuss. The taxis are a little expensive but that’s not the hotels fault, and most taxi drivers (not all) drive with their mobile in their hand, so be prepared for a potentially scary ride. I would recommend this hotel for a short break, we were there for 5 nights, we had two rooms on different floors, so would try and get them close together if staying again.

GGuest UserSupernice and supergood hotel, marvelous room and central downtown location. Normally i book rooms in the 100-150E range. I decided to go a bit more luxurious and i tremendously enjoyed it. Im an easy going traveler, i was i Bordeaux to assess architecture and urbanism projects. I rented a bike to go around the city. The hotel staff is very naturel an friendly, no rush to empty your wallet but rather making sure you have a great time... Best hotel experience i had i a lon time travelling the globe. Wholeheartedly recommended!! Bordeaux is the best French City!

GGuest UserFirstly I don't normally submit reviews. I think everyone's experience is subjective based on where you've travelled before and what your expectations are. I also think it only fair to address issues with management before posting on a public forum. All of these concerns that I refer to below have been expressed to the management and the response to date has been indifferent at best. Overall this hotel is overdue a refurbishment but unfortunately the tired nature of the decor extends to the staff and management also. My problems were many. The room was not serviced properly on two days. Paint was flaking from the walls and the air-conditioning did not work properly, which meant the room was frequently cold. The room was also poorly lit, which created a very depressing ambience. Check in and check out were comical. When I checked out I was given no bill, no invoice or any receipt, neither was one emailed to me. When I got home I saw that I had been overbilled by €300 which management told me was normal practice but was being refunded to me. By the way it took three days of emailing management to be told this. This could have easily been avoided or cleared this up if I was given an bill/invoice or informed of this by reception, none of which happened. There were other issues. The downstairs common areas are small, rundown and completely misrepresented by the hotels website. The staff refused to hail me a cab and told me to go inside and order one. A small issue, but surely that's one of the benefits of staying in a five star hotel. Finally communication. I emailed them, using the address provided on their website, filled out a contact form on the website and finally completed a customer satisfaction survey. No of this aroused the attention of the Hotel Management. Finally I resorted to the only tried and trusted method, Twitter. I eventually got a response here, but it too was also slow and labored. The room was €500 per night. It was far from value for money. Would I go to Bordeaux again, most definitely yes. Would I stay in this hotel again, most definitely no. The problems in this hotel extend across the board, it will take some effort to fix them.

GGuest UserVery good spacious layout, and even came with a kitchenette, especially useful when staying on sun or public holiday where restaurants are not opened, like in my case. Great location and I can access tram B and A less than 100m away. I stayed for 5 nights, and the only issue I had was that the bed if on the loft, which has poor air circulation, so I kept waking up due to stuffiness and sometimes in sweat even though the main floor was a cool 18 degrees and outside is about 12 degrees. If they would install a fan in the loft that will help a lot. Otherwise, a great place to recommend!

The location is acceptable, in the central area of Bordeaux, 500 meters walk after getting off the airport bus, the gate entrance is on the side of the street, easy to find, arrive at more than 10 o'clock in the evening, there are many people at the entrance of the bar, and feel safe. The rooms are small, with good hygiene, comfortable bedding and average breakfast. The front desk was good, and the taxi was booked, a better experience.

EEduardoThe experience at the hotel was great. Firstly, we were apprehensive about the location, however, the metro in front of the hotel made everything so easy and accessible. One thing that caught our attention was the lack of a reception desk. I thought this would limit the service, however, it turned out to be a simple and welcoming service provided by efficient and kind employees. Breakfast was also very positive, both for the variety and quality of the food. What I missed was a little more amenities, like a minibar in the room and slippers, for example. Another thing that left something to be desired was the ”city view” which was a very high window to observe, very different from what was expected from the room description. And what I liked most was the room being extremely comfortable and welcoming, with good finishes and a very well chosen set of colors and lights. The bathroom was excellent and had excellent cleaning service. And the bed... the bed... was perfect and exceeded expectations in terms of size, comfort and quality of the sheets and pillows. It was an excellent stay.

GGuest UserWe arrived at the Novotel gare saint jean, Bordeaux with realistic expectation of a four stars hotel experience. Comfortable room with excellent costumer service. We were unfortunately in for a surprise. We were greeted by an intense smell of sewer in the room. A very small toilet where we could barely sit with what looked like an old western saloon door. Toilet brush missing: After informing the reception, the stuff brought us a dirty toilet brush at the reception and hand it to us to carry back to our room. Room cleaning: We were presented with the option to pick the room cleaning days at our arrival. We picked every other day and for some reason the intermittence was totally misunderstood. The room was not cleaned when agreed. Once again we went to report to the reception. We were promised that someone was at least going to empty our trash can, bring a clean set of fresh towels and two vouchers for free drinks at the hotel bar because the cleaning time was far gone which we accepted. Unfortunately stuff never showed up to pick the trash nor with the set of fresh towels or vouchers that evening. Bath drainage malfunctioning: Clearly not functioning properly. Water filling the tiny shower floor which is about 0.80 inc or 2 cm and if not shut immediately to wait for the slow drainage to actually happen, the water will spill over. Beside that, the shower head covered with limestone etc… At the end the management gifted us a package of their body care product for the inconvenience. If hotel stars still mean anything I do not believe we had a 4 stars or even a 3 stars hotel experience.

GGuest UserReception: English lady at reception was very assistive and pleasant. Room / facilities: Room number 608 is on the 6th floor and is an executive room. Not sure why it is considered executive, as it only appeared to be larger than other rooms (based on the floor, layout diagram on the entry door). We did not use the flat screen TV as there are virtually nil english speaking tv channels on French TV. The king bed is comfortable, but the 4x square European pillows are not to my liking. The executive room was not as clean as i would expect, as there is black mould in the clothes hanging space, a mop head is provided (no handle attached), the bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans have years of dust built up around the edges where the fan unit connects to the wall. The room walls badly need a paint and freshen up, as there are black marks on the walls from the bedside tables. Water streaks run down the bathroom walls. There executive room has no daily clean, obtaining fresh towels cost extra per request. Depending on your length of stay, to ask for the room to be cleaned floor vacuum is an additional €9. We saw the cleaner on our floor one morning, however after we returned after 4 hours, the floor hall way was not even vacuumed. The towels provided fell brand new, as the tags are not frayed, they smell and feel fresh from the store, UNWASHED.. I have to take the rubbish out. Our booking was for two persons, yet the hotel only provided 1x bottle of water, additional bottles were at a cost. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, cook top, microwave, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, but no towel to dry dishes, no chopping board nor a plug for the sink. Well equipped kitchen MINUS the bare basics. You have to request a dish wash kit from reception, this dish wash liquid in the kit is as runny as water, does not form any suds and will only last 1 - 2 washes. Using the liquid soap in the bathroom was more effective. The bathroom has yellow coloured stains on the silicone around the base of the tiles, the shower tiles appear to be dirty and need a good scrub. This may be the design of the tiles. The toilet could use a good dose of beach or domestic cleaner (domestos) and a scrub to clean the “s” bend of the toilet, as there are black marks visible in the bowl. The studio apartment does have a self control air conditioning and windows that opens fully. The Air Con was on at our arrival and made it very comfortable to enter the room, after a hot walk from the train station. Laundry: None on site, but a Self service coin laundry with washers and dryers is a 2 minute walk on the street corner. Wash cost €5 for 8kg. Dry is available. Parking: I believe parking is available on site, for an additional charge, but this was not utilised during our visit. Wifi: Fast and reliable. Email address required for login. Breakfast: Available at an additional daily charge. This was not utilised during my stay. Conclusion: Great location as the hotel is 65

Very Good
Kkrustyburger666I paid £38 for a night through a third party website. The room was small but comfortable. The tv was extremely small. The bathroom could use a renovation admit is slightly dated. However, the location of the hotel is perfect and the sound proofing was good enough. I would come again.

NNabil FHello, I'm going to write in English and French. Here's the pro about apparteo (Good location next to the bassins a flot, really nice view during my stay which you could see a beautiful sunset 🌇 , bus station just in front of the hotel and not too far away the tram station cité du vin which is only 5 Stations away from Center of Bordeaux, you have also Les hangars not far away which is one of the most peaceful place to walk day or night, I mean Apparteo position is actually really good, everything looked clean except a few things but doesn't bother, it is a also a residence of students) Now about the cons, if someone didn't help me, I couldn't have entered the building nor having access to do the check-in, in fact you need a pin code that I Never received which the card of your room is inside with other card which can be a little bit odd, anyway can have access to it, the office was close each time I try to check someone no matter the time, the smell in the bathroom was really unpleasant but I could manage to get over it from opening every window and little perfume, but it come back if I keep the door close of the bathroom The table where I was eating was moving a lot, but honestly other than those few cons that can be managed, it was a really pleasant stay, I enjoyed a lot and could sleep really well, calm, peaceful, nice view I highly recommend this place as the few cons can be solved easily, just wished to see someone at the reception and it would have been even better. Peace ✌️🕊️
