InterContinental Bora Bora le Moana Resort, an IHG Hotel

With all my other vacations/trips cancelled in 2020, it was almost a dream too good to be true to actually be able to safely take a trip from Los Angeles to French Polynesia. My expectations were quite high, given the prices in Bora Bora (more than I have ever paid to stay anywhere in all my world travels), and it did not disappoint. First off, I should state this was a solo trip - I believe I may have only seen only 1 other solo traveler the 4 days I was there. That said, several of the staff learned my name the first day which made a big impression and helped me feel a little less alone on my trip. I also take Covid precautions VERY seriously and I found the staff were very good and consistent with mask wearing and cleaning. The property is beautiful and I was overjoyed with my room facing Mt. Otemanu, it is noted the pool was on the smaller side BUT when you have an entire shallow lagoon to enjoy, I didn't really even need a pool. I ate at the restaurant a few times, and enjoyed the food. Prices are to be expected - very high but that is Bora Bora. I am not a big breakfast eater so opted out of the breakfast. I did find if I went to the little market down the road by 8 AM they had a nice assortment of croissants and breads. One croissant and a nespresso I could buy from the front desk made me happy! There appeared to be a local restaurant called Roulette that normally had breakfast but they were closed - I am not sure if that is due to Covid. One big tip - if you have time, definitely book a massage at the sister resort Thalasso. The boat shuttle is then included and you can go to the pool and enjoy the facilities there. The pool and view there are absolutely stunning. I shortchanged myself only giving myself a couple hours, the Spa has a TON of beautiful places to sit and lounge too. In hindsight I wish I had spent the entire day instead of just a few hours. The massage faced down into a glass bottom so you could see fish below!! Lastly, as someone who likes to explore a little and also search for less expensive dining, I liked that the Le Moana was adjacent to a handful of local restaurants and a little market. It does appear that as of late Dec 2020, some of the spots were closed, but I hope for them and future visitors, they will be re-opened soon. Thank you for to the Le Moana for helping make the end of 2020 a very bright spot for me!

Royal Bora Bora
4.2/5102 Reviews
We flew to Bora Bora from Papeete, Tahiti and arrived around noon. The flight into Bora Bora was spectacular with views of the other nearby islands Raiatea and Tahaa and then the stunning Mount Otemanu on Bora Bora and the incredible blue water of the lagoon. We took the shuttle boat from the airport to the town of Vaitape and were met there by the hotel shuttle. We arrived at Royal Bora Bora, located on the southeast side of Bora Bora, and checked in. The lobby, bar and restaurant are built with large beams and the Polynesian thatched roof and are located on the beach side. Breakfast and dinner are served in the restaurant overlooking the lagoon and near the pool which you can see from the lobby. Rooms are located across the Circle Island Road which is not busy at all. From this road you can drive around the island and see the nearby motu's where the really expensive luxury hotels are located. There are several buildings in a tropical garden with paths to your building, each one with 6 or 8 units in them. Our ground floor room was large with a king bed, a sofa, a dresser, sliding doors to a small terrace, TV, a small fridge, a kettle and coffee and tea service, and the bathroom had a shower and all the usual amenities. The staff were very nice and spoke English well. We loved our stay at Royal Bora Bora and sitting by the lagoon on our last day and just admiring the beautiful scenery. It was extraordinary.

InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa, an IHG Hotel

My husband and I stayed at their sister hotel, La Moana Resort for our honeymoon. We visited the Thalasso Spa while on our honeymoon. We actually had the ”honeymoon” package. When we arrived on the boat from the La Moana Resort, along with another couple who happen to be leaving the La Moana Resort and transferring to the Thalasso Resort, the hotel staff member greeted the other couple and drove them on the gold cart to the reception, but barely greeted us and we had to walk. The Spa in in the SAME direction, so why not offer us a ride as well, especially since there was plenty of room. Then we decided to have lunch at the restaurant there and the service was awful. We had to keep calling for the server, she NEVER came back to check on us to see if we needed anything. When we went into the gift shop, we were not greeted at all, in fact we were pretty much ignored. Then, when we arrived for our spa treatment, we were told to change and that someone would give us a tour of the spa. We waited and waited and waited and finally, I stopped someone and inquired. Of course by that time it was already time for our treatment, so we didn't get to enjoy any amenities at the spa. The staff members were not at all friendly or as pleasant as the staff at the La Moana Resort. I'm so glad we did not stay at that resort.
Conrad Bora Bora Nui
4.6/547 Reviews
This trip has lived in two hotels, St. Regis and Conrad, Conrad's infinity pool has a great view, and the sea view from the hills is also a superior seascape. There is also Conrad's feeder boat available to the airport. The free shuttle boat at a dock can save the cost of direct airport transfers to and from the airport. The downside is that there are no mountains in general rooms, and there is no lagoon for snorkeling in the hotel. However, choosing a hotel is correct. It is too boring to live in the four seasons or the St. Regis. The hotel has a Chinese waiter and Chinese is not a problem.
Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora

Borabora must live in the lagoon, otherwise it is difficult to appreciate its beauty. Of course the most important thing is weather, weather, weather! Although there are rainy and dry seasons, it ’s more luck. The last rainy season was a sunny day. The dry season was just a few hours of sunny days. The others were dark clouds, which may be affected by typhoons in Japan. For hotels booked on Ctrip, you need to contact the hotel yourself to tell the flight time to book the ferry boat (13000fpx for one person round trip), all aspects are good, very satisfied.

I’m a Titanium member and stay in dozens of high-end Marriott properties throughout the year. This was an exceptional experience, exactly what I had expected from a property of this type. The staff truly didn’t disappoint and went above and beyond. The room butler service was a nice touch. There were also a few times when small gifts and souvenirs were delivered to the room, which was an unexpected surprise. The overwater villas were beautiful, with ample amenities and personal bikes assigned to the room. All in all, we will definitely come back here.
