My hubby and I stayed at this hotel for two nights to explore Interlaken and Jungfrau Jorch. Its location takes you a bit farther away from Interlaken OST train station which is the main station to get to Jungfrau and where downtown Interlaken is. However, the view from the balcony was too amazing not to book this hotel. It is located right across from Brienzersee ( Lake Brienz). You can get on a cruise ship pretty much right out side of the hotel. The bus ride to Interlaken OST station is only 10minutes or so. Also, with the pass the hotel gives, all the buses are free. The hotel does not have an ac as many hotels don’t in Switzerland but provided a fan. With a fan, we were able to sleep much better. The amenities are old and unimpressive ( especially, soap dispensers in the bathroom. It is impossible squeeze the bottle to have liquid soap out). The breakfast was nothing more than standard Swiss buffet breakfast. Unimpressive. No sweet pastries other croissants and loads of bread or only boiled eggs, no scrambled or omelette. Not to mention that a lot flies enjoying all the food before you get to them. The eateries are very limited in the area so it would be smart to make sure you find some place to eat before coming back to the hotel since there are a lot of options in Interlaken. Or you can always eat at the Hotel restaurant. The food was decent but the reservation is recommended. (Pizzeria, cheaper option at the hotel is closed on Wednesday, so if you are looking for rather affordable meals and more variety, you should definitely eat in the downtown area.) Overall, it was not a bad stay overall. Whatever this hotel lacks can all be forgotten by the amazing view of Lake Brienz.

Our stay was in May 2023 and it's unforgettable to this day! First, the views which are even better than in the pictures! We were there in shoulder season and it wasn't overly crowded. In the mornings, you could see locals on daily jogs and walking their dogs. It didn't feel as overly touristy in the nearby Interlaken. We especially liked the peace of the town at night. During breakfast every day, our family had a designated table with our names on it which gave it a personal touch. I was told there breads was from a local bakery was delicious (We loved the croissants). While I see how some may feel it is repetitive after a few days, the quality were top notch (and par the course for breakfast spreads in Europe I believe). Food costs is after all high in Switzerland, and breakfast was included in our rate so we have absolutely no complaints. A shoutout to the staff at breakfast, who was so polite and welcoming throughout. This property is a bus ride from Interlaken train station, but it is not too far and bus arrivals are frequent. On our first day however, we ran into to a tourist horde that was heading to Iseltwald and it was a stressful experience with our luggage, especially we weren't sure where to alight. But it was an one-time encounter which we did not face later on once we got our bearings. The bus stop was just across the street so we just trotted there easily everyday after breakfast. And it's near a ferry stop too, which made boat rides across the lake super convenient and efficient. I feel like you have to consider other in context when doing reviews. Accommodation costs in Switzerland are simply high, so I think the prices here are considered reasonable. Some of the review i feel were a little unfair, as this place was never marketed as a five-star luxury hotel. The rooms were clean and more than sufficient to recharge and relax after an entire day out. And it's really what i was looking for - a hidden gem with spectacular views but without the exorbitant costs. This property showcased the best in hospitality. Due to its small size perhaps, we had a cozy stay where you could feel the warmth and pride of the people running the place. I feel like they would go out of the way to help you with any issues you face! For instance, we faced some discrepancy during check out due to some billing issues and they solved it very promptly without fuss. Thanks Seiler Au Lac for helping us create such wonderful memories. I would no doubt recommend everyone to consider this place.

Our stay in the hotel room with a breathtaking view was absolutely enchanting. We stayed at your hotel on Sept 12th 2023. From the moment we entered, the panoramic scenery captivated us. Every detail of the room was thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The staff's exceptional service added to the overall experience; they were attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. And very special mention to Steven Maglsn. Best customer service! We loved everything about our stay – a perfect fusion of awe-inspiring views and exceptional hospitality. If we ever return this is where we gonna stay, and we would highly recommend your hotel for everyone who is visiting Interlaken.

Lovely, slightly old fashioned hotel. Charming, helpful staff. Single room a nice size with plenty of storage and coat hangers. I paid extra for a room with a balcony overlooking the lake and consider the money well spent. Hotel spotlessly clean. Breakfast buffet good, 4 course evening meal (with choices) excellent. Plenty of information in the hotel about the surrounding area. Only downside was the public transport, the 2 buses an hour during the day were usually very full, a ferry every 2 hours or a 40 min walk to Interlaken. I do, however, look forward to returning to this hotel in the future.

This hotel is fabulous. Originally I had two rooms but a party traveling with us had a medical emergency and I forgot to cancel the reservation. The owner manager was very understanding. I offered to pay but he would not allow me under the circumstances. We had a patio room overlooking the lake and it was so peaceful in the morning and at might. The beds were comfortable, shower fabulous, clean rooms and the breakfast was delicious. After 1 day our waiter knew our preference for tea and would start making it when we walked in. They called us by our last name which made me feel like family. They were quick to suggest things for us to do each day and always ask how was our day before and what our plans were for the day. Perfect experience. I wanted a soft boiled egg and they made it for me on the spot. Strawberry jam was the best. I recommend this place 100%. Go and enjoy what God has made.

Our last stop in our week-long tour of Switzerland was the Hotel Seiler au Lac-- Definitely our favorite hotel, with a serene lakeside view from our balcony, friendly cheerful personable service both at the front desk and in the two restaurants, with delicious food -- pizza at La Boheme and European fare at La Gare. If you are looking for busy 5 star accommodations look elsewhere--Beware, the main town of Interlaken was crowded and overly touristy--But if you enjoy natural, gorgeous mountain and lake views and simpler but comfy accommodations head to the "other lake" and the Hotel Seiler au Lac in Boenigen, on Lake Brienzersee-You will be very glad you did! We took the boat ride around the lake one day, and then traveled round trip by several trains to the "Top of Europe" Jungfraujoch, as well as Grindelwald, Wengen and Lauterbrunnen--a long day but definitely worth it.

We are from the USA and met friends from Geneva for lunch at this beautiful Lakeside restaurant connected to the hotel. The food was simply outstanding and reasonably priced. The presentation was more than we expected. Kudos to LeClaire Bonigeo who was our waitress, and took care of us extremely well as if we were family. Sitting under the awning, we enjoyed the cool breeze off the lake and the calm waters. Exquisite!

We were lucky enough to book a week's holiday in this fabulous family run hotel situated in Bönigen overlooking Lake Brienz. We had a lovely large room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Stefan and his team were so friendly and helpful with everything. We really had a fabulous stay. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The evening meals were absolutely fantastic. We were both excited each evening to see what was going to be on our menu!! The adjoining pizzeria was also superb and again plenty of choice on their menu. The hotel is conveniently located for buses into Interlaken and further connections within the Jungfrau region. Another added bonus was the Brienz cruise boat which stops 2 minutes away from the hotel. We would both thoroughly recommend Seiler au Lac and we would have no hesitation in booking to stay there again. Thank you to Stefan and your team for making our holiday so enjoyable. Jon and Julia Lawton.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights late June celebrating our 50th anniversary. Stefan and his staff made our celebration even more special with their warm and welcoming attention. We dined at both of the restaurants while there and thought that it was some of the best food we had enjoyed during our 10 days in Switzerland. Jennifer, in the French restaurant made sure our anniversary dinner was a true celebration with her special touches. By the time we checked out, we felt we had made a new friend. The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable, and the view was unbelievable. Bonigen is a small village close to Interlaken, and the hotel is right on the lake with both boat and bus transportation very close by. The breakfast buffet was very good and included scrambled eggs and bacon which we had not had at other accommodations. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, but the thing that really stood out to us was the wonderful atmosphere provided by the staff. We would love to return in the future.
