We loved High Paradise Farm. Lovely setting and hospitality. Lunch and breakfast provided was very generous. Homemade quiches and sausage rolls, chutney and some classy honey. Quirky but comfortable with great views and interestingly stocked shop. Enjoy!

This was a brilliant place to stay! We stopped for one night whilst doing the Cleveland way and it was amazing. Warm welcome from Ginny, the room and courtyard was lovely. We were quite sad we had only one night and would love to return. Would highly recommend, lovely place to stay!

We booked this for a one night break as we were looking for somewhere that’s dog friendly. When we arrived we were completely blown away as the room was lovely and in amazing settings. The bed was really comfy and the room has all we needed. There was plenty to do in the area and not far from Thirsk.

A really lovely stay! Ginny was very welcoming and kind. She let us in early out the rain. The three dogs are very friendly too! A log fire in the room is a great addition. A good walking spot. The café was just opening when we stayed. I would highly recommend!

Lovely spot with good cafe and a nice walk. Cafe has inside space plus the courtyard and outside tables. It was spoilt overall by their own farm dogs that were jumping up on tables in the courtyard and making a mess.

Cosy little place for a couples weekend away. The fire was pre lit which made it extra cosy and warm on a very wintery weekend. A few cobwebs and spiders were spotted, and the pillows could do with being replaced but all in all a lovely little place.

We arrived just after midnight after a long car journey to York. First of all, our room wasn’t very clean and the bed was unmade. If this were a hostel, I’d be happy to make the bed, but it seemed strange for a room that cost over £90 a night. Upon flushing the toilet, we were horrified when it overflowed with sewage from the septic tank, and vile smelling liquid started coming up through the drain in the shower and the sink, filling the shower basin and sink with sewage. It was difficult to sleep because of the smell coming from the bathroom, it was genuinely disgusting. The next morning, I politely approached the hotel manager to raise the issue, only to be met with an unhelpful and rude response. She did not even apologise, but instead, she condescendingly asked if we could hear the "macerator," growing irritated when we were unfamiliar with the term. There was no alternative bathroom provided for us to shower or freshen up, and no offer of a different room for our second night's stay. After how rude the manager was, and the uninhabitable state of our room, we decided not to stay for the second night. After initially refusing, they finally agreed to refund us, but only for the one night we didn’t stay, which meant that they refused to refund us for the night where our bathroom toilet and shower were unusable. They also deducted £12 from the refunded cost to wash the bedding, which apparently they charge for every room, which also seems very strange for a room that costs over £90 a night. I barely ever leave reviews but I can’t express how much I do not recommend staying here! 6 months on we can vaguely laugh about how horrendous it was, but it was honestly the worst hotel experience either of us have ever had by a long way. The poor quality of the room, sewage problem was one thing, but the rude customer service made it all a thousand times worse. Do not stay here!

Popped by as we often do while out walking the Cleveland Way around Sutton bank and was fab as usual.. The farm itself is amazing set in lovely remote countryside with great views!! We ate outside in the courtyard which is so cosy..Great coffees and cakes and the cheesy chips and soups were gorgeous, tasty and so filling..Service is always brilliant and friendly made all the better by the lovely dogs that always come for a stroke..If you are in the area We would highly recommend taking a detour to this fab place!!

We arrived at High Paradise for a one night stay at the end of October after 8 miles walking on the Cleveland Way and were grateful to reach our shelter for the night after a grey mizzly day. It soon became very clear that our booking was after the end of the usual walking season as the tearoom was not open (weekends only at this time of year) and we were the only staying guests. We followed written instructions to let ourselves in, then chose some items from the onsite honesty shop (mainly frozen and packaged goods) to create an interesting dinner and quirky breakfast on the kitchenette unit in our room. The room was chilly on arrival but had a wonderful wood-burning stove which, once alight, soon made it toasty inside. There was also a very effective heated towel rail in the bathroom. Ginny was on site and came promptly when we needed her to respond to our query.
