On our round trip through northern Italy, we stopped in Bologna from 24.7.-25.7.22. We had booked a Classic double room at UNAHotels Bologna Centro via an online platform. Likewise, we already know UNAHotels from previous stays in other cities. The hotel is located outside the old town. It's a comfortable 20-minute walk. Unfortunately, the check-in did not work smoothly. The room was not ready at 13.15. The reception could not even check us in. They could only do that when the room was ready. I have never experienced anything like this and it has never happened in any other UNA hotel. Fortunately, we were able to drop off the luggage. A garage is also an advantage in Bologna. The reservation worked without a problem here, cost 22 euros per night. The room was very good. Size, comfort and cleanliness were perfect. The bathroom is also good. Everything necessary is available. Modern furnishings. Our request for a room on the upper floors was met. Wifi is good. The breakfast has everything you could want. Despite the discrepancies at check in, we can recommend the UNAHotels Bologna Centro.

A very nice hotel with good amenities. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was decent. Bring a hairdryer as the hairdryer supplied is ok for short hair, but not great for long hair. There was only 2 plug sockets in the room and one in the bathroom. This makes charging modern day phones, watches and other equipment very difficult. Especially if one of the plugs is located behind a cupboard. The kettle was balanced on the air con unit which isn’t ideal. A shelf would be a good idea. There aren’t any draws to put away underwear or tee shirts so be prepared to live from your case, however there is a clothes rail. The beds are made everyday and fresh towels if required. We used the spa which was lovely, although the pool probably was a clean. We will definitely return as the location is excellent, about 8 minute walk to the station.

Location was great. We arrived in Bologna at 12pm. Our room was ready which was wonderful. The room itself was very nice, clean, wonderful bathroom. Very comfortable. Plenty of USB ports, great wifi. Good AC Would definitely stay here again next time.

Booked this hotel as it is close to the train station Bologna Centrale and the city centre. The location is therefore good and set in an interesting mixed area with cheap cafes and bars nearby. There is also a large supermarket close by. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is fairly basic considering the price you are paying for the hotel. It appears that this is mainly a hotel for business clients. However the main drawback is that there is no heating in this hotel as the A/C was switched off centrally, despite the temperature in Bologna going down to 5C at night when I was there. It is therefore cold at night in the room.

Situato vicino stazione centrale ma c’è bisogno di taxi per arrivarci … dalla stazione ci vogliono circa 7/8 minuti .., hotel molto pulito servizio alle reception veloce cordiale è molto disponibile…. camere molto belle e super tecnologiche pulizia ottima (la mia era la 339) colazione al buffet molto abbondante e tutto molto buono con soluzione diverse per soddisfare tutte le esigenze …. con il taxi con una decina di minuti si raggiunge subito il centro .., lo consiglio vivamente a tutti … aggiungo per concludere qualità del sonno ottima e doccia nel bagno maxxi ….. da provare assolutamente

We have booked this place through their website and we were satisfied from the general information that we got online. To be honest it was in a very good locations. Arriving at the property we noticed that there were construction works ongoing !!! Early in the morning the noise was very loud and it was impossible to sleep. Imagine a family with 2 young children that has to wake up from that noise. The second and the biggest delusion was the apartment itself. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A PLACE SO DIRTY! The floor was so dirty like it has months without washing. Tested with a paper tissue… it become brown dark, disgusting. The beds were arranged with some old sheets and a couple of duvet (smelly) that was hard to sleep. Very old towels, from white they were close to grey, and with an unpleasant smell. The apartment itself was very old in furniture and equipment. Not mentioning that there was zero acoustic isolation. You can feel the next door apartment chats like they were in your room, and the road noise was crazy if your apartment with face the road. Very poor experience

I visited with my family for 1 night as a night stop. On arrival the area does not look particularly attractive & the outside of the hotel looks a little tired. But once inside the hotel is lovely & the staff very friendly & helpful. The rooms are large with air conditioning & very clean with lovely shabby shic furniture. There is a car park at the back of the hotel but it is a little small although we were able to park our cars in there. Breakfast was what you would expect of a continental. There is a very good Italian restaurant next door to the hotel which we used for dinner.

Very polite and responsive staff. Delicious breakfasts, always fresh fruit. If you come back late and haven’t had time to have dinner, it’s very convenient to go down to the restaurant on the first floor and have dinner there. The restaurant serves delicious food. There is a stop nearby, 15 minutes by bus to the train station. I really liked it, we stayed for a long time, 12 days. Grazie mille ❤️

Just neded a hotel for one night on my way from Sicily to Germany. The price was ok, rooms are ok - however not an overall nice place to feel comfortable. Also the surrounding is everything than pleasant- but for a stopover ok. I didn’t try the breakfast and also to dinner in the evening. The good thing is that the reception is open for 24h.

陶陶觅The hotel is located on the main road of Bologna, across the road from the Cathedral. On the day of the check-in, a grand religious celebration is held, as it is close to the road and you can walk through the road to feel. The room is large, especially the bathroom, and it is no exaggeration to say that you can dance inside. There is an emergency alarm rope near the toilet and the shower. I have pulled two times in the unknown. I have to call the security immediately and need no assistance. It is quite professional and safe. The bathroom accessories are famous Italian brands, the quality is very good, they are brought back to China after they have not been used up, especially like it. The breakfast room was slightly crowded and the dishes were average, but there were even porridge dishes. Later, I learned that there were Japanese monks and local religious groups to hold a friendly relationship and cooperation ceremony during the stay. It was very interesting to walk from the hotel. The restaurant waiter also asked us about Chinese tastes and Chinese cuisine. Although the English communication between the two sides could not convey the essence of Chinese food, they communicated clearly with the help of the body language and imagination. The breakfast was really good. A cultural exchange platform, the restaurant waiter is also very friendly. In general, although it is not the best hotel in Italy, it is also a great place to experience.

GGuest UserThe Starhotel Excelsior is located directly across the street from the central train station, thus is very convenient for those arriving to Bologna by rail. It is also very easy to come in by car without having to battle the traffic of central Bologna and parking is very easy. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the central square. The walk is pleasant day or night on streets lined with shops and restaurants. The area around central station is lively at any time and feels reasonably safe. The hotel itself is quite modern. Rooms are large and quiet despite its proximity to the bustle of the train station. The quality of the rooms and service is extremely good for the price.

MMadTwalkerThis is a personal opinion, the hotels location is great, just across the road from the Train station, several bus stops within walking distance and taxi rank just nearby. Overall it didn’t give me that 4 star hotel experience, I found the rooms and bathrooms outdated, the rooms could do with a refurb and better lighting and air system, could be a lot better. The areas I covered or seen are clean, staff are ok-ish except one of the receptionist (Giulia) she was brilliant and she took a request of mine at heart and delivered it as requested.

GGuest UserWe stayed in this hotel for two nights in mid-September. A major plus-point is the location of this hotel close to the railway station. It is only a 10 minute walk away with luggage - always assuming you can find your way out of Bologna AV Station! It is a modern, large hotel offering conferencing facilities as well as providing accommodation. Reception occupies a large space with several seating areas. Staff are efficient and friendly, capable and helpful. We arrived early for our check-in and a room was made available. The bar, breakfast room and restaurant all occupy a single space. There are seating areas outside the entry. The bar is functional but efficient. We took breakfast on each of the days we stayed and were untroubled by any crowding albeit we ate early. Standard continental fare with limited hot options and a totally useless toaster. The spread and the quality was quite acceptable. We did not use the restaurant or the roof top bar. The room was spacious and comfortable. Everything worked and whilst we were on the rear of the hotel there was little cross room noise but some external noise. It was clean and housekeeping was attentive. In-room safe was capacious! Wifi was acceptable. Personally we were disappointed that the bed was presented with only one thin cover sheet, but duvets were available. We opted to turn the aircon temperature up! Bathroom was four piece with an over-bath shower. Toiletries were OK but housekeeping did not notice when dispeners were empty. We had to chase housekeeping to get replenishment. This is a large, slightly anonymous hotel. It is the high-end of mid-range costs and can't be said to deliver anything really special save for its location. We are sure it would look after any requirements that its guests had. Whilst close to the railway station the central part of Bologna for eating and drinking is no more than 15 minutes walk away and that area offers something more Bolognese than the hotel. We would recommend it provided corporate identity overrules local colour in a guests choice.

GGuest UserThis is a wonderful small family owned hotel in a great location in Bologna. We had many family members staying there on our way to a wedding and it was PERFECT! The staff (especially Marco) was great - friendly, helpful & spoke good English. The rooms are all different and extremely well appointed. The rate was good and the included breakfast was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler.

GGuest UserOn first approach, it was clear to see that this hotel is quite far out from the city centre however explains why the prices are a lot cheaper. My partner and I stayed here in July 2022 for 4 nights and I must admit, we loved the room and overall feel of the hotel. Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. We slept amazingly!! If it was just based on rooms alone, we would give this hotel five stars. However… We booked this hotel mainly because it had a pool. When we asked about the pool, we were informed we needed to book a 1 hour slot if we wanted to use it during that day. This was due to covid measures which were still in place at the hotel. So we did. Booked a 1 hour slot for the pool the following evening. When we arrived at the pool on the lower level, we noticed that the changing rooms were locked and the showers were turned off…due to Covid. Now I would typically understand some reasoning for certain covid rules but this just seemed ridiculous. A couple who were using the pool in the hour slot before us informed us to use the small shower cubicle to get changed as this had a frosted glass door on it and is the only bit of privacy you get down there. So we did! We ended up booking the pool out another two times on our stay but as reception advised following our first pool visit, get changed in your rooms then head down to the pool (assuming you don’t need to get the key from reception to unlock the pool). Towels were provided by poolside although on the first day, there was only one towel left for the two of us. On my final visit to the pool on the morning before we left, I had to go to reception in my swimming trunks because the pool was locked. Something I felt uncomfortable doing in the first place but as there was no changing facilities and the towels were locked by poolside, I reluctantly went to reception where the man behind the desk got angry at me being there in my swimming trunks. Simple solution would be to open up the changing facilities down by poolside to prevent this but hey, that was too obvious. Upon pointing out the fact that the changing facilities in his hotel were locked because they won’t open them due to Covid (which he should have known), he eventually calmed down and mentioned he understood. On our visit we also used the electric bikes which were at reception for a full day at the cost of €25 per bike per day. The system is far to complicated for what it needs to be and should be made simpler by just having reception deal with the booking. Once eventually booked, we were given the keys to the 2 bike locks, helmets and some netting for our hair (another odd covid measure which doesn’t make much sense as you will sweat through the netting anyway). As I was away to take the bikes out, I noticed that all four tyres were flat. Surely this should be inspected by the staff before the bikes are taken out?! Unfortunately staff appeared clueless on what PSI the tires had to be at and as he pumped up the first

MMelrose MaeGreat location with great staff. The bell tolls every so often, but it is no bother. Shower is a tad bit tiny but bathroom is big. Lift is available but some rooms on level 2 has a few steps to conquer - do request a room that does not tackle this if you cannot lift your luggage for these few steps. One key per room, but key can be left at reception. We had 4 rooms all up and they mananged to get us all on same floor & close by, as per our request. Again, all the staff are great. Check-in is 3pm, check-out is 11am.

孙孙Hotel location is a bit biased, not on the main road, but the hotel environment is good, the facilities are very new, the room is normal size, breakfast is good, there are bars and restaurants around, cost-effective, if you do not care about the city distance or work around it is recommended.
