B&B la Finestra Sul Canale

Stayed here recently on a short break to Bologna and it served our needs well for 2 nights. Location is good, close to the centre, many restaurants and also walkable from the train station. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome and provided with useful information about the area. The room was very clean and had good air con, which we appreciated as there was an unexpected heat wave during our stay! The only reason I have not given 5 stars is that I felt it was a bit expensive for what it was (around 140 euros!), but if I could get a better price then I would definitely stay again.

We loved the La Finestra Sul Canale hotel. It's a small, newly remodeled inn that's in a great location. The room and bathroom were great. Comfortable bed (for Europe). Great AC. Blackout blinds. Our host was very friendly and communicative. Overall, we really enjoyed our four-night stay here. The street was a little noisy and sometimes we could hear our upstairs neighbors, but nothing too disruptive. It might be quieter if you get a room facing the canal. My biggest gripe is that hotel doesn't offer breakfast, despite the fact that their advertising really makes it seem like they do (including pictures of pastries, calling themselves a B&B, listing on some sights that breakfast is available for a surcharge.) In fact, what the hotel has, is a deal with several local cafes to offer pastries and coffee at a discount. Not a big deal to go out and find your own--there were lots of options close by. But, as someone who likes to have breakfast in my PJs, I was disappointed to learn that there was no breakfast offering on-site. Still, we'd stay here again if given the chance.
