Albergo Delle Drapperie

A lovely refuge from the bustling streets of Bologna. The average outside temperature during our stay was high 30s, but the A/C in our room ensured we had a cool return. Directly outside the hotel are busy, noisy, crowded streets with sellers of all manner of wonderful food and other items, yet within our room it was very quiet. The room was perfect. Everything worked. The hotel staff were delightful - always a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The short flight of stairs up to reception was a bit of a pain but after that the lift took care of the rest of the climbing very efficiently - never had to wait too long. We didn't try the breakfast because we love to eat in the man outdoor cafes, but we heard no complaint from other guests.

When visiting Bologna l always try to stay here. It's central, friendly, comfortable and has frescoes on the ceilings.

Perfect location slap bang in the centre of Bologna. Friendly staff, clean room & bathroom. Would definitely recommend for a weekend

Ok budget hotel, situated on a narrow market street, very close to the main square. Makes exploring surroundings easy, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. It has a kind of old and rustic feel, but it is clean. Basic breakfast is offered, and the staff was friendly. Things that should be taken into consideration is that the wall mounted safe is small, so a large camera for example won't fit there and the market street below the room windows can be a bit noisy.

The hotel location is fabulous. Right in the centre and with lots of little shops, bars and restaurants around. Camilla and Letizia are wonderful on reception and will do anything to help you. It’s a quirky hotel and has been a hotel in some form since the nineteenth century, recently restored, it isn’t a modern hotel but it is full of character. My room (206) was perfect for one with a 1.5 size bed, enough room to move about in and a good size en-suite. The coffee at breakfast was great but if you want something different, just ask and they will make you a cappuccino or a latte. Breakfast featured yoghurt, melon, ham and cheese, pasties, rolls and other cake items - enough to get you started for the day. If anything is missing from your room just ask reception and they will quickly help you. TIPS - to switch the TV on hold the red button down for longer than a quick press! To set the safe, the black button you need to press is just inside in the top of the safe door. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic boutique hotel, the location is amazing (right in the centre), the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is fantastic always ready to help you or to give you suggestions that will make your stay better. The place to stay when you visit Bologna. Great value for the price :)
