Recent change in ownership and refurbished. Emilie, Michel and family have carried out sympathetic changes that have brought modernity but kept the general historic, relaxing character that is the essence of the Hostellerie. The menu concentrates on local ingredients and is of high quality, highly recommended.

The Hotel is advertised as having a Gourmet Restaurant. What it does not tell you is that it only available on Saturday and Sunday. We arrived on a Thursday and were very dissapointed as the reason we had booked was for the Gourmet Restaurant. Instead we were offed the menu du jour with a limited choice, non of which I would call gourmet food. I chose the Steak and it was so tough it was inedible and I left it. Another guest also had the Steak and had to leave it as it was so tough. I will not be staying there again.

Stayed one night solo in May with friends. Easily found with plenty of parking. My 4th visit - it’s such a convenient ‘gateway’ stop over to/from Calais (40 Mim’s). As ever, warm and efficient reception and staff throughout, especially the hands on owner who oversees everything and speaks excellent English. A previous sarcastic review really misses the point. This is an historic building which oozes traditional French character in all respects, from basic but comfortable rooms to the really excellent restaurant. Those seeking a ‘modern’ (and soulless) experience should look elsewhere. I enjoy everything from 5 star to basic, but wouldn’t consider anywhere else in this region. The gardens to the front are pleasant, especially sat out in the sunshine post arrival with a glass of something pleasant. WiFi was decent. My ‘go to’ in this part of France. Highly recommended for those that enjoy a traditional French establishment.

Very old hotel in need of upgrading our room whilst clean was awful with windows that opened into a corridor and an entrance door in a corridor that smelt of toilets and cleaning products. Bed fairly comfortable. We asked to change rooms to be told non available despite the hotel having few guests. Dinner was good breakfast not so good.

We have stayed here many times and we have never been disappointed. Excellent room with lovely big bathroom with bath tub and over shower. Restaurant is just superb. On our second night we had the menu of the day. The main course was pork cheek stew which was just delicious. As for the sweet trolley ……..❤️ Whenever we stay here we always encounter other English people who have also stayed here before. That has got to tell you everything you need to know!

Definitely for old people.. Rooms with names we can’t understand. Room’s definitely need a full upgrade, pensioner style. Bathroom was from 1970’s.. who puts a heater in front of the toilet ? Maybe so you can warm your legs or poo.. Dinner was okay.. desert selection was the highlight. The fine looking lady owner took a real shine to Alain le Bergamot.. he will be back I’m sure.
