We arrived at 1am, after a terrible experience at another lodge in Hartebeestpoort. We were immediately welcome, even though we hadn't booked. Service was professional, accommodating, and brilliant, from start to finish. The room was clean and ready for us. The venue peaceful, scenic - with plenty of wildlife around. Although there is development ongoing, it was never a bother, nor did it impede on us. The sky bar and restaurant was fantastic, and again the service good. Did not get a chance to try the spa out, as we had limited time. Close enough to Hartebeestpoort, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We certainly will be back.

On arrival we had to call the cleaners to clean the unit. Than the front door could not lock. The carpenter had to remove another door from another unit. This all is happening whilst we book, thinking they expecting you. The towel is very stained. They were white at some stage. The cleaners are not easily identified, uniformed, they not supervised. No senior sign of the unit, this is when you don't get toilet rolls, towels ect. Crockery is so stained, I purchased domestics from the convenient little store to clean the cups before I could serve my family a cup of coffee whilst a door is being fitted.Pool chemicals are put into the pool whilst you in the heated pool. Make sure you have 2hour + to be served dinner. My master bedroom, we had a sky view because the thatch roof is not maintained. SA is this how we attract our tourist and treat them. We had a spiral staircase with no safety rails, theregore we never used the master suite upstairs. The manager demonstrated a don't care attitude. I will never, never return to this dive. The week we stayed here, they had no bottled water on site. We had to drive out to buy water. Shocking and it is not peak season. Can you imagine what would happen during peak season. Your website is deceiving. NEVER, NEVER WILL I RETURN EVEN FOR FREE!!!!

The photos that the resort puts on their website is NOT what you get when booking in. The chalets and especially the bathrooms were very dirty. The roof of the braai area was full of holes so we couldn't braai when it rained. Thete is a big lack of maintenance. Utterly disappointed!!!

We booked 4 bedroom chalet for the 26th and 27th of December 2024 having stayed at this resort in 2022 when we were very impressed by all the the facilities of the resort ,however this time around we were very disappointed and dissatisfied with accommodations .when we first arrived there was terrible stench at the entrance of the chalet and inside as well later issue was resolved by maintenance and house keeping room was not properly cleaned before arrival and no towels in the bathroom. The towels were later supplied only after we requested them on the second night we received the towels only at 11pm which was ridiculous and no apologies tendered from house keeping or front desk .The maintenance of the room also very poor a few drains were blocked air conditioning in 1 of the rooms was leaking out a black substance which fell on the bed .only 1 rooms safe was operational and 1 of the rooms doors were not closing maintenance could not resolve the door issue .the shower doors were not sealing resulting in bathroom floor getting flooded with water .the pillows and couches were emanating strange odour .The facilities and the resort were very good and we enjoyed the use of them ,also the padel courts are great addition.Generally the staff were friendly and helpful except for the staff at reception who gave us a bit of a run around and their service was overall poor .

What an awful experience my family and I had at this place recently.. Rooms weren’t ready when I booked in. No water to shower or wash my hand as they turn off the borehole. No sense of urgency. No deleting their guests of these matters. We booked this place beginning of November and there was an issue with our booking. This place does not deserve the good reviews it has, absolutely awful.

the issues i have are as follows: - The night of the 20th was a Sleepless night, there were cars parking in the Car park outside our Lodge 9 from 8pm, they were drinking, loud music, and repairs being done to the car, and then they would rev the engines and race up the road and around the place. and returned to the car park only to repeat the same over and over. The noise carried on till 5am the next morning, we had little kids with us and they battled to remain asleep, I tried calling the reception after the hours number with no luck, there was no security that patrolled etc., which brings to question how safe are we staying in this place? issues i had inside our lodge 9 Room 33 - Shower had mold, roof had mold, show door broken, does not close so water pours onto the floor Bed on the right hand side is broken, couldn't sleep on that side!!! Room - 34 Shower head unusable, water sprays from the top and sides Room 35 - Globes by the dressing area not working Room 36 - Shower Head unusable , Water sprays from the Tops and Sides. Kitchen - A Lot of the dishes are not there, basic items that you need are not there like bowels for breakfast, knifes, toaster etc .. The pots handles and lids are broken, the Oven Door doesn't close fully had to use a Chair to hold it closed while in use Reception said there is free Wi-Fi, yet there was no Wi-Fi at all in the rooms The next morning i went to reception to speak to the manager , no manager was available so a lady named Lynette spoke to me she said they are aware of the car in question ( white Audi) and that i am not the only lodge that has complained, and told me that the issues i am reporting regarding the inside of my lodge will be taken care of that day and that the General manager will call me as soon as he is back. I didn't get this call back and no one came to the unit to attend to the issues. On Monday I checked out and I left a message with reception to tell Lynette that no one had come to attend to the issues and no one had called me as she had promised. , and till today I have heard nothing Safety is a Huge issue here, and not sure how this place is rated 4 Stars
