Akkan Hotel

It was a nightmare.They gave us a room right next to the kitchen. They slammed the door in the morning everyday multiple times. We couldnt even sleep at all. In the morning we realized that we had 2 cockrouches in the room.

Amazing location and friendly staff (especially Sofia, who is a sweetheart), 5 out 5.  We stayed at the suite (3rd floor with no elevators), which definitely needed better care and much needed repairs. The smell of sewage in the bathroom throughout the week of stay was really terrible.  The bathroom faucet was very loose and almost was falling off; the bathroom sink counter was also nearly coming apart, which was never addressed/repaired. View from the suite balcony was amazing.  The location of this hotel was perfect, close to everything, beach, shopping and restaurants Breakfast was just sufficient, but not amazing. Staff is really nice, friendly and very helpful. Our relatives stayed in different rooms, which were really small and the sewage smell was definitely noticeable. There were no elevators in the building, but the staff were so great and took care of the luggage upstairs and downstairs. Overall, this hotel needs more care to be more appealing.

The location can’t be beaten - perfect. We had booked a room with a balcony, if we were only here for a weekend, it would have been perfect, lovely views, but as it was a longer stay we always look for good outdoor space, the size of room not important for us. this is a city hotel and the balcony will only fit one chair for one person. The Manager kindly agreed to allow us to move rooms so we could get the extra outdoor space. if going back i would definitely look at either the suite or check for a sea view balcony. Others have mentioned cleanliness and smells - the plumbing seems to be an issue in a few places we went to in the area and work is in place to fix. cleanliness - no idea what happened with others, but the housekeeping staff worked so hard - they were at rooms every single day to change sheets and towels if you wanted - we tend to go for every third day - the place was extremely clean. Breakfast - turkish cold buffet style - plenty of it, a little more fruit would have been ideal, maybe some cold drinks available - but the food was fresh and plentiful so very small point and no complaints. The beds were fantastic and very comfy The staff were all lovely and extremely helpful - i would go back just because of that point alone!

Bodrum is a very charming city with so many wow feelings. But this little hotel was not so good. The room smells. But good staff. They were more kind to us then greek staff at s hotel on Kos. The turkish breakfast n food are really good. But i did not se any variation for breakfast at this hotel. Thought still good breakfast. Hotel has an excellent view against the sea. The thing that i did not like was that the housekeeping staff stole some chocklates from us. The manager was not willing to help us. But i am ok with this but the room had a bad stamdard. But i loved Bodrum very much.

I will start by saying we were three young(ish) girls travelling together and stayed for one night in the centre of Bodrum at the Akkan Luxury Hotel. We cannot recommend this enough as it can be hard to find somewhere where you feel safe and looked after. Can (The Hotel Manager) was quite simply THE most kind, courteous, attentive and accommodating host. He went above and beyond for us. He contacted us days before our arrival to ensure we had everything we needed and helped us find a place to park our rental car. On the day, he met us at the car, took our luggage straight from the car to our room and hopped on his scooter to guide us to the nearest car park. He then proceeded to help us book restaurants, recommended great places to shop and get the best deals. On checkout day, we had a late return flight, so he took our bags from our room into storage and offered us a courtesy room to shower and get changed before delivering our bags back to the car. During our drive to the airport my friend realised she had left one of her rings at the hotel and after a quick text to Can, he located the ring and said he would post it to her address. He is AMAZING and is an absolutely credit to this family-run business. The hotel itself is beautiful and is modern yet has an authentic feel. We were offered a free room upgrade but couldn't take it as we needed a triple room. Shame! We didn't need this however, as the room was beautiful, beds were very comfortable and had everything we needed. It is in a great location next the Marina and a very short walk to all shops/bars. We felt very safe and we will definitely be back! THANK YOU CAN!
