Makani Luxury Wanderlust

I wish I could give this place zero stars. The experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, we were forced to sit where they wanted, and when we requested to change seats, it turned into unnecessary drama. We arrived at 11 a.m. and asked for coffee, tea, or matcha—basic beverages—but they had none available. The waitstaff was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and clueless about the menu or what was actually in stock. After finally placing our order, it took them an hour to inform us that none of the items we selected were available. When we asked what was available, they couldn’t give us an answer. To make matters worse, as we tried to re-order, the waiter rudely walked away mid-conversation. Then it started raining. We wanted to move from the beach to the pool area for shelter, but they refused unless we paid an additional fee. There were no umbrellas provided at the beach, so we were essentially expected to sit there and get drenched. Frustrated, we moved to the restaurant, where they struggled to locate our order and told us it would take another 45–50 minutes to prepare. Adding insult to injury, we discovered that the juice we initially wanted at the beach—which they claimed they didn’t have—was suddenly available at the restaurant. After all this, we decided to speak to a manager, and all they offered was a measly 10% discount on the final food bill. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.

Beautiful view, relaxing vibes, great staff. Had a great trip staying me and my wife. Good was good ambience was better. We will definitely be returning. Rooms were clean spacious and comfortable. Service was friendly jf not a little slow at times. Loved every bit of our makani vacation

Just arrived and they’re telling us it’s an additional $80 usd a day pp to use the pools that closes at 6:30 because they’re a beach club. I’m already paying $500 usd a night for an obstructed view of the ocean that wasn’t written in the description. They didn’t allow decorations for my boyfriend’s birthday stating it’s a luxury hotel. Staff is friendly and trying their best to deal with the hotels horrible policies. Drinks and food was mediocre, slow even tho we were the only ones at the restaurant and didn’t see anyone taking room service. Only thing luxury about this place is the price.

Worst service I’ve received in my life. Anywhere. Day 1 asked for info on the menu because I’m lactose intolerant, even when the menu specified that the granola was prepared with almond milk they told me they didn’t have almond milk at the hotel. When I received my order of huevos rancheros (plural) I received the whole menu including *A* huevo Ranchero with cheese. Thereafter every time I ordered coffee it took between 1 and 1.5 hours to come. Day 3 ordered coffee, OJ and bowl of granola which by then we’d agreed on lactose free milk. The order took almost two hours to come because there was ‘confusion’ on Coffee. Coffee. The granola did not come with lactose free milk because an hour after I ate it, I was violently ill with vomit and diarrhea. Day 4 - for some reason they took my towels and didn’t bring them back. I called endlessly the front desk and no answer. So I showered and used the hand towels to dry. Day 5 . Hoping to spend a day in paradise because the hotel is beautiful when ordered drinks and food by the pool half of the order came. The server forgot about us never came back. Went to check twice on the order and turns out they only ordered half my order the rest didn’t come. Asked for it twice, 2. Hours. Later. The order came. No apologies except oh we have too many people today. So what was the excuse for the res of the week? The hotel is WAY too expensive for such poor service. Note: I also had a massage which should’ve been a calming and enjoyable experience. However the spa is open air and right next to the DJ so while you’re being massaged there’s a confusion of reggaeton and calming music, while the mosquitoes attack you mercilessly. The masseuse was better suited to knead pizza.

It’s absolutely breathtaking! Everything form the sights, the villa the amazing service and the food it’s something you’ll don’t want to miss! Each villa has its pool, we stayed in the sundeck villa . The experience it’s unmatched. Also don’t missed the room service menu! It’s amazing
