The Boat House Guesthouse

Warm welcome; very comfortable room; excellent full Scottish breakfast; very good restaurant nearby for our evening meal. The icing on the cake was that, having arrived after a week's backpacking, the guesthouse took our dirty washing and washed it and dried it all by breakfast the following morning. Brilliant service, and very much appreciated. We look forward to returning!

We stayed here as a large group walking the Speyside Way and this accommodation was booked as part of a package so I can't comment on value. Because of the size of our group we saw most, if not all the rooms, and this was by far the worst accommodation that we encountered during our walk. The rooms varied in size from so small you couldn't walk around the bed you had to sidle along the wall and no luggage would fit to an adequate/average size double room. All the bathrooms were in need of some maintenance and cleaning. There was mold on many of the bathroom surfaces and somewhere on most of the wall/wall or wall floor joins. My wife and I seriously contemplated taking a small holdall to the nearby Boat Hotel and forfeiting whatever we paid for this accommodation. Had we been alone rather than part of a group we would have done it but decided we should "tough it out" with our friends. On the positive side the breakfast was much better than we had expected given the standard of the rooms. We could not recommend this accommodation at any price and if we were planning to return to Boat of Garten and this were our only accommodation option we would review our itinerary to stay in another village.

We booked what was claimed to be a chalet but it is an old caravan in the driveway. The age and shabby condition of the caravan meant it was unsuitable as holiday accommodation, especially at the price charged. The host did not appear during our stay but in a phone call refused to accept our views.

My brother and I spent a night here as he wanted to do some bird watching. We booked the chalet, which turned out to be a static caravan, but it was clean and very comfortable. It was also well appointed and we were able to buy breakfast in the BnB alongside. This was excellent. Harry gave us some good advice as to where we might try to see the birds we wanted to see. Unfortunately, they did not appear!

The room was very cosy and the breakfast was amazing. Harry and Keite, hosts of the place are amazing and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I would recommend stay in their place as they look after your comfort. If you really have any special requirements like (use the fridge for exampe) they always willing to help. The breakfast is hudge and delicious at the same time. Quiet and value for money place to be.

Another stay at the Boat House and cant fault it An Excellent base for going fishing in the local rivers and lochs the breakfasts are ace and kept me going all day and the room was clean and tidy I would have no hesitation of staying here again and will be back in the summer
