Embassy Suites by Hilton Bloomington/Minneapolis

Hotel was in a decent location and had ample parking (although confusing that they may or may not charge for parking). The staff were friendly and quickly changed our room when we found items left behind by someone else in the room at check-in. The manager's reception was the WORST that we've ever experienced at an Embassy Suites. Chips & Chex only that ran out quickly and was next to the buffet so people kept waiting for additional items to come out, no cleaning of tables, only 1 bartender for adult drinks so extremely long lines. Every other Embassy Suites I've been too has included a hot item or side dish item in the manager's reception and a manager or staff member rotating around to tables checking in with guests. That didn't happen here. We ended up ordering kids' meals at the restaurant but didn't get any adult meals because they would not allow any substitutions and all food items had something that adults could not eat. Turns out BBQ sauce for chicken strips was an extra cost at the restaurant, which seems odd for a $8 kids meal to not include a dipping sauce, plus it said it came with drinks but we didn't get any (which was ok because the kids already had some pop from the manager's reception). Luckily, the women working was wonderful and helped us out. Hallways were bright and noisy which is hard when there are window out to the hallway and curtains don't completely cover. At 2 am, there was a person yelling outside the door that we think was at the wrong room and it felt creepy that they were trying to look in! Hideway bed extremely uncomfortable, you could feel the springs poking through, no blankets provided. Only 2 towels in room even though it slept 4. We asked for blankets and more towels and both were provided so appreciate the staff for brining those up. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay. While it was slow to get plates and food restocked as well as tables cleaned, there was a good variety of breakfast items! Unfortunately, they only had 1 person making omlets and the line was a 10-15 minute wait the entire time we were there so no one in our group used that option. Check-out was easy. For the price, iffy if we'd stay again because we could have stayed at another chain with a breakfast option.

We stayed at this hotel last year and booked a ”pool access room”. I thought it meant that they were restricting access to the pool to keep numbers down due to COVID. When we got there we realized they had rooms that opened up directly to the pool and that's what that meant. We still were not placed in one of those rooms. We didn't realize we didn't receive the room we paid for until we were already settled in and went down to the pool. We decided to just stay in the room we were given and still had a good time. We booked again last weekend because our young son loved the pool. We went to check in at 4:00 and there was a line out the door of people checking in. Every single person in line had an issue with checking in. I was behind six groups and it still took 45 minutes. She noted that I had booked a pool access room and they were sold out. I asked if there was a price difference to stay in another type of room. She said no - which seems a little ridiculous. We paid a premium to stay in a room with easy access to the pool. She said they were overbooked in every category and there were going to be a lot of angry people later that day. We got up to our room and it definitely wasn't the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. There were stains in the carpet, bathroom was dirty and everything seemed damp. There were no toiletries in the bathroom apart from a bar of soap. We booked the room for three people and there were only two shower towels. We said screw it and just used one of our beach towels to dry off with rather than harass the already understaffed hotel. We were planning on eating at JT's located in the hotel just for ease. We went down there and the door was unlocked, lights were on, but there wasn't a soul in sight. We don't think they ever even opened up on a Saturday night. A sign on the door would have been nice. My son enjoyed the pool and play area immensely, which made the ridiculous price almost worth it. But next time we want a hotel with a decent pool we will go elsewhere.

The breakfast was great, very good, forgot to take pictures, but remind everyone, don't forget to save a little money and not want breakfast, this breakfast is delicious and delicious, a room with breakfast can be consumed at the restaurant 75 dollars, we are three people, basically can not finish, go to dinner only need to tip. The second floor of the hotel can go directly to the mall, then the first floor is the food city. The food inside the restaurant is really not as good as the hotel's breakfast, even worse than the hotel's lunch dinner. I can only eat some shack shack (it seems like this) ) So reminder, the domestic time difference has not come, wake up very early in the morning, hungry, must eat breakfast

I wanted so badly to give this fine hotel near the Mall of America a five-star rating, and it was close. But some unusual issues prevented me from doing this though overall we had a great experience here. No place is perfect, but if they correct a few items at this hotel it will be pretty darn close. First, the pros include a great location across from MSP International Airport, and approximately three blocks away from the impressive Mall Of America. Like most of the hotels in this area complimentary airport and mall shuttle service is provided, so you may not need to rent a car when staying in this area. If you do, parking is free which is something that is always appreciated. The rooms at this hotel are excellent. Divided into three sections, with a separate sleeping area with a large flat screen TV, a living area with a sofa, desk, and another flat screen TV, and of course a good size bathroom. The rooms are almost mini suites in many ways. What are the cons? The primary one for us was no maid service for short stays of two nights or less. Our room was not made up after a spending the entire day at the Mall of America. We needed clean towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, etc. Had to visit the front desk to obtain these things, while making our own bed. Would never expect this from a Marriott chain hotel. The other issue we had was relatively minor, but for some reason the City of Bloomington has major road construction in the hotel zone going on in November(?). This activity shut down the main road to our hotel, as well as several others in the area. So, fortunately we had our Garmin with us and eventually it found an unobstructed route to reach the hotel parking lot. SpringHill Suites could have sent an e-mail to those with upcoming reservations alerting them to this construction, and provide an alternate route to reach the hotel with your rental car. But, overall this is a terrific hotel and we would definitely stay here again our next visit to Minneapolis.

We had a great stay! Our room was clean and good size. I’m a light sleeper and I didn’t hear anyone above or below my room. The planes start up around 7a, but I’m up by then anyway. Easy walk to the mall, maybe 5 mins to the entrance. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. My only minor complaint would be the terrible in room coffee. The coffee in the lobby wasn’t any better. I’d like a keurig option or even a Mr Coffee. I’ll pack a press next time.
