Not that much.
The only advantage is that it's near the Newark airport, otherwise, no services, retail or restaurants around, in short very dead area.

The room was comfy and clean. There is a free airport shuttle every half hour and it takes only 5 minutes to drop you off.

The price of the hotel is cheaper than those in Manhattan but the train to Manhattan cost $16.8 one way
Took 50mins from hotel to Penn station using shuttle and train
Airport shuttle is every 30 mins 24/7.
Airport to hotel: every _:15 and _:45
Hotel to airport: every _:00 and _:30
Breakfast is quite good (comparing to other hotels in the US, not comparable to asian hotel)

The staff were helpful, but the hotel itself is in desparate need of updating.
Although there are a few electrical sockets in the room and the seating area in the lobby; there are no USB sockets anywhere.
In our room, the plug in the bathroom sink is too old and water just runs away. I had to fill it 3 times in the space of 5 minutes, so just gave up in the end. The decor is
old & worn.
When we went to breakfast, food is not labelled correctly - on the second morning; we helped ourselves to an omelette (label stated 'scrambled eggs') but there was cheese in the omelettes. As you must be aware, cheese (pacifically milk - & therefore lactose - is an ALLERGEN) and MUST be listed. there were no allergens listed anywhere; unless it was a packaged product - such as yogurt or teabags!! I am amazed there were no sugar free or gluten free options.
In today's climate, Crowne Plaza needs to bring themselves up to date.

Perfect hotel for a long lay-over. Easily accessible with the free shuttle. Rooms are old. Staff is friendly.

The hotel is fine to spend one night if you have to go to the airport early or you arrive late, what you would expect from a 3 star hotel.
