Everything is ok except its location. Although you can see the sea from your balcony, you also can see the cemetery near to this apartment from your room window. If you don't mind, this apartment is suitable for the family

The last time I stayed at this hotel, I had the same thought: why did I order this hotel? It looked so lovely on the web, but when I arrived, it was so old and rundown, and it was pretty expensive. However, when I leave, I have a good feeling and good memories. The houses are old, one from 1884, I think, and the new annex from 1950, I think. You have to go outside to get between the two houses. Everything is so run down on the outside. But inside it is warm and cosy, with no bad smell. The room is lovely, with new windows and a comfortable bed. Service is satisfactory, and breakfast is simple but fresh. Strangely, everything in the hotel is in English - nothing in Icelandic, and the staff doesn't speak Icelandic.

One night stay to remember. We had read the reviews so knew that it was a considerable drive/trek along a gravel road . We arrived late evening and the weather wasn’t the best . However, the view that we woke up to made it all worthwhile ( see photos). The sunrise over the sea/mountains was spectacular. It was low season ( end of October) so we had the place to ourselves - beds were comfortable and we had the upstairs bathroom and kitchen to ourselves . Host was helpful and friendly. This hotel seems to be operated by an old lady. After 8:00 in the evening, it is self-serviced into the hotel. In fact, it is still very good. The room is clean and tidy. The quality of nearby guests is high. The disadvantage is breakfast. It has an automatic coffee machine that is very convenient.
