Hotel Moby Dick by WP Hotels

Not 3 stars worth. Both backache from the uncomfortable beds and pillows. Room very small and fridge not working so we had to drink our water on roomtemperature. Breakfast almost empty at 9.30 am and the worst coffee I have ever drunk. What annoyed me the most was that the hotelmanager himself stood smoking inside his restaurant/breakfast room which shows no respect for his guests. That made us decide never to go back to that hotel anymore.

The hotel is a comfortable 10 min walk from the station. Blankenberge is a typically clean Belgian town and this is reflected in the hotel. The sea front is 150 meters away. There is a husband and wife management team who made us welcome, the whole atmosphere for me was very relaxed. We were clearly a group of men on a boozy weekend but while our hosts clearly understood this they never betrayed any concerns. As most hotels in the area this is a brasserie, so restaurant food and a bar are also available. I did have an evening meal at the Hotel (a fish dish in the Ostend style - 3 pieces of different fish in a cheese sauce with a few hints of mushroom) which I felt was good (it is a bit difficult to judge based on one meal). We had beers and coffees and I had a Calvados. There was a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. We had a whip (we had all put 40 euros into a central pot) so how pricy the drinks were was a bit difficult to judge but we were all very happy. The only negatives I would suggest was the staircase which is steep with some narrow steps in places. There is a lift which has a strict weight limit , no more than 4 occupants. All round I was very happy with the Moby Dick and would not hesitate to go back. If I do return I would like to have a longer stay investigating some various restaurants including at the hotel.

We stayed only for one night, staff was very friendly, room was clean and comfy. Good bed. We stayed here when attending the live is live event in Zeebrugge. A lovely night walk back, next morning enjoyed the sea, beach,... Good hotel to enjoy this part of the Belgian coast.

Wonderful nice owner and a very welcome. Rooms are ok and comfortable. Close to the beach and quiet room. We had breakfast in the other hotel Riant, which is fantastic. A lot of choice, coffeemachine, fresh fruit, all kind of bread, cheese, ham etc. All very clean and very friendly.

Comfortable and clean hotel. Not far from the sea. Good breakfast. Good friendly staff. Room was ok, clean and there was a elevator. For a day or weekend. With bathroom and toilet and free badroom products.
