Since the last reviews, the lodge has been sold. With that change in ownership has come changes in quality and service. The food is not good. The shakes are not great, and from my experience take 1.5 hours to make with not another single customer in the building. The service was horrible - the counter girl yelled at us for reminding her 4 times that I'd ordered a shake, telling us that they were busy when there was not another customer in sight. The table who left before us left without eating after they found an earbud in their salad. Yes, an Apple earbud that the cook claimed as his when they brought it to the counter. Being a local, I've heard stories about how customers have been turned away and yelled at regularly, how hours of operation are not consistent or reliable, how the quality of food has degraded drastically. We're all really sad because it's a community institution that we can no longer frequent. The new owners clearly don't have experience in this business, but we really hope they figure it out as it's a truly great business opportunity if they would learn some lessons from the previous owners about product quality, great service, and reliable availability. Everything about Smiley Creek Lodge is communicated word-of-mouth locally and in the surrounding communities of Stanley, Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey, etc. If it's bad, everyone knows really quickly, but if it's good, they'll know that too.

As I was saying in the previous statement. The exterior of Smiley Creek looks like a homeless encampment. The wait staff was apathetic at most poorly trained. The bathrooms were disgusting with garbage overflowing. The food was very good. That is the only thing I would go back for.

If you are looking for a unique adventure, Smiley Creek Lodge is your place. From the food and drinks at the rustic lodge, to spending the night in a yurt or choosing one of their fantastic new tiny houses, it will provide you with a unique experience. If it’s summer, rent a paddle board or a Mountain Bike, or if you are looking to zip along, an E-Bike. In winter, it has to be a snow machine to zip around the many surrounding trails. When you have reached your limit, relax with a good burger and an ice cold beer, or maybe a milkshake for which they are widely known. Ford and his staff will see to your every need and make you feel right at home.

Really cool place and the people there we're top notch. We stayed the first night in the yurt and we're offered a tiny home that was available so we stayed there a second night! The only complaint was the tiny home was not well cleaned, it really looked like the bedding was cleaned up and that was it. Finger prints, sand and flies all over the place. If they do a better job there it's a great place.

Apparently the owner has thrown RV camping under the bus in favor of "glamping". Made reservations 6 months ago for two travel trailers but most of those sites are gone, in favor of expensive " tiny homes. At $385 to $425 per day, this place is definitely not for RV' ers. The remaining RV sites are crammed together, no privacy, hard to access, and some of the sewer dumps are uphill or hard to reach from the site. Unfortunately, there are not many full hookups RV parks in this area, so not many other choices. Beautiful area, sad to see another RV park bite the dust.
