The good parts - nice warm welcome. Nice location although appears to be no nice restaurants in the town, only takeaways. The bad parts - smelt a little musty, room could do with a dust. Very dated. Bathroom in the twin room is tiny. Struggled to get changed in there. Also had no heating in the bathroom. The single beds were uncomfortable. You could feel every spring.

Pros: Richard the host is fantastic, very helpful and accommodating. Internet is good. Location is great, slap bang in the middle of the town. The pack up breakfast and the picnic lunch were great. The room had very good coffee/tea making facilities also. Cons: We had a single bed each and they were not at all comfortable, we both had two awful nights sleep. The two pillows are also incredibly thin, though more were provided upon request. The bathroom has everything you need but it's very, very cramped. The TV is tiny (not that we were there to watch TV but for the sake of the review it was worth mentioning).

Me and my partner went for my 30th birthday, Richard the owner was loverly showed us to our room, he also got me a balloon for my birthday, he let us know all of the great places we could visit, also took an interest in our day when we got back. Loverly and clean, great location, great views, nice big room, we could not of asked for any better.

Upon reading some of the harsher reviews of this place I was a little worried after I booked it for a weekend away for our 20 year anniversary, but I honestly don't know what people have to complain about? We spent 2 nights in Isallt Guest house. Cute building in a quirky little town surrounded by huge mounds of slate and mountains, bang opposite the railway station and across the road from a shop. Very warm welcome when we arrived and help carrying our bags up to the room. We stayed in room 3. It consisted of a decent double bed, TV, toilet and shower room, and tea making facilities. The room was comfortable and clean, and had free WIFI with a great signal. Both mornings we had a little breakfast bag waiting for us in the communal dining room consisting of cereal bars, muffins, fruit juice, and other goodies. We paid about £150 for 2 nights and thought it was great value for money. Yes the shower was a little bit rubbish, and yes the town itself is a little run down but for the price.... it's brilliant! A lovely little guest house and a great base camp for a weekend of hiking and exploring the stunning surrounding area.

Just returned from a great stay at Isaalt. The guest house is perfect for a break and not far from Snowdon. Our room was big and comfortable. We had tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, towels. There is an iron you can use. We were greeted by Richard who was very helpful on advising which places to visit and where to park. There is a dining room with plates and cutlery you can use if you order a takeaway. There is a terrace out the back with tables and benches you can use. Breakfast was good, made up in a takeaway bag early in the morning. We also ordered a picnic lunch that was ready for us to take in the morning which was also nice. There is a couple of little supermarkets, cafes, pubs and food places all in a few minutes walk. Richard was very friendly and helpful. We will return and definitely recommend.

We loved our stay here at Isallt. A really warm welcome from Richard, our room was exactly what we needed for a 2 night stay. A great location for exploring north west Wales, with so much within an hour or so drive. No cooked breakfast which is made clear when booking but the packed breakfast was perfectly adequate for us. We were able to use the dining room for a takeaway as plates, knives and forks are provided for anyone to use. The fish and chip shop is about 2 mins away and was fabulous! All in all a great stay and we are already looking to come back next year!

A very typical 3* guesthouse. Our room was large and comfortable with a big comfy bed. Breakfast bags were more than enough to satisfy. Cleaning of rooms could have been a little better (eg bathroom doors, dusting of skirting boards, cobwebs on ceiling) but I might be overly critical as I'm a cleaner myself so please don't let that put you off. Plenty parking and a nice little outdoot and indoor dining area where plates, microwave and extra water is provided. The village is a little deserted with a lot of buildings unoccupied which is really sad as every local we met was so friendly. Which leads me on to the host of Isallt Guest House - Richard. By far the best host we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He's helpful, approachable and friendly and has loads of handy tips for visiting the surrounding area. We will be returning to this guest house in the future.

Lovely place to stay. The host was very welcoming and friendly. The room had everything that was needed. The breakfast bags were perfect, a little bit of everything. We ordered the snack boxes for our day trip and they were perfect. A fantastic little spot to stay, as it is close to lots of points of interest in the area. Would definitely stay there again.
