Grand Hotel Blackpool

We have just returned from an overnight stay. We had booked the suite ( coniston). Upon arrival we were quickly dealt with by reception. The hotel is running on a skeleton staff but all were helpful. Our suite wasnt ready but the happily stored our luggage so we could go into Blackpool and would call when it was ready which they did. The hotel itself is in a 10 min walk of the north pier and tower. From the outside it looks a little tired. The main door doesnt work and decor is dated. The suite however was very spacious. It stretched across 5 windows all tower facing with a great view. The only down side to this was the windows needed a good clean. The suite was modern and had 2 bathrooms a dining area a living area and bedroom. It was clean and tidy however there were noticable stains on the carpet and furniture which they had cleaned in the past. But overall was very pleasant. The bath was lovely nice and deep. We only paid 179 for the night when peak charge can be around 300 so i felt at this price it was worth it. The only thing that would of made it better and i would expect if paying top end would be a robe slippers and possible complimentary mini bar. The bed was very comfortable and the addition of a fan was welcomed. However no hairdryer! We didnt eat here as we ate at the beach house (highly recommended and it didnt dissapoint! )At this price point we would return again and plan to in the future.

Just home from a three night stay as we haven’t visited Blackpool in over 10 yrs! Just read some negative reviews and think they have stopped in a different Hotel. Granted, the Hotel is dated and our room 301 hadn’t been refurbished but comfortable & clean. Food was very good and always spoiled for choice. Leisure pool was a great option on the rainy morning with the evening entertainment being as good as we had heard. We were lucky with the weather for 2 1/2 days and walked the prom, Tower in 25 mins and the Pleasure Beach in under an hour. Tram Stop outside the Hotel. Limited parking at the Hotel but plenty space on adjoining streets. The Kids club looked good and was busy so kids must enjoy it, have told the family that this is a great family hotel to try. Impressed with Blackpool Prom, the regeneration is impressive and modern with the Penny Arcade, Ice-cream parlours Kiss me quick hats etc that is Blackpool and of course, the Tower..! Went to Viva Blackpool, great show.. Already planning our next trip to the Cliff’s..!

We stayed here for a cheap night away with our 8 year old, most hotels were more expensive and didnt offer much as in were very small no bar or entertainment. The bar was really big and had a sea view we had a few drinks before we went out for tea. There was a dancefloor and stage. Plenty of space for my son to play around whilst we had a drink. Tram stop right outside to the town. Room was very spacious yeh it wasn't the newest but with the price i wasn't expecting it to be. However it was clean and comfy. We had a Seaview room but had scaffolding outside our window so the window was quite dusty but that couldn't be helped. We didnt eat there however we walked past the breakfast buffet and everything looked lovely and i did look at the hygiene rating and its a 5 so. Check in was super fast and parking for the night was only £3. The hotel had a singer on and the kids were happy playing on the dancefloor so family friendly. There is also a pool which we didn't get chance to use but a great facility for the price. I would defo visit again

FIRST CLASS HOTEL IN MANY WAYS, THANKS 😊. BOOKED THIS IN SEPTEMBER 2023 WHEN IN BLACKPOOL AND STAYING AT A NEARBY HOTEL. INFO. IN THE WINDOWS OF THE DORIC ADVISED THAT THEY HAD DONE A LOT OF REFURBISHMENTS RECENTLY. WENT IN HAD A LOOK AROUND TALKED TO THE YOUNG LADY AT RECEPTION WHO WAS MOST HELPFUL AND GAVE ME A COPY OF THEIR CURRENT BROCHURE AT THAT TIME. ANYWAY, ARRIVED AT HOTEL ON THE SUNDAY AFTERNOON 1 HOUR BEFORE CHECK IN TIME BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS DOWN. WAS POLITELY ASKED IF I COULD SIT IN THE LOUNGE / BAR AREA AND THEY WOUD KEEP ME INFORMED OF ON GOING DEVELOPMENTS. BY THE WAY MY 4 WHEEL WALKER AND LUGGAGE WAS LOOKED AFTER AND PUT INTO A SAFE ROOM UNER LOCK AND KEY. JUST AFTER THREE THE CHECK IN TIME I WAS TAKEN TO MY ROOM WALKER AND MY LUGGAGE WAS ALL THERE AND ROOM WAS AS REQUESTED SINGLE WITH A SEA VIEW. HAD PRE ORDERED A ROOM PACKAGE OF FLOWERS CHOCOLATES FRUIT AND WIN BUT ONLY WINE AND WERE IN ROOM ON FIRST ARRIVAL VISIT. AFTER UNPACKING AND GETTING ORGANISED WENT TO THE LOUNGE VIA RECEPTION TO ADVISE THAT THE FRUIT AND CHOCOLATES WER NOT IN THE ROOM. AFTER A DRINK IN THE LIOUNGE RETURNED TO ROOM AND ALL ITEMS REQUESTED WERE IN PLACE. RESTAURANT SERVICE FOOD AND CHOICES FIRST CLASS. 10 OUT 10 HOUSEKEEPING AND CLENLIENES FIRST CLASS 10 OUT OF 10. NO COMPLAINTS BUT JUST A COUPLE OF AREAS THAT NEED TO BE LOOKED AT / ADDRESS ED. RECEPTION HELP AND ASSISTANCE AND BAR SERVICE BOTH HAD A SHORTAGE OF STAFF.. ALL BEING SAID I HAVE BOOKED UP FOR WEEK NEXT YEAR IN SEPTEMBER AS IT THAT GOOD ALL TOUND. MEANT TO MMENTION THAT ALL THE EVENING ENTERTAINMENT WAS FIRST CLASS. BEST WISHES TO ONE AND ALL FOR THE YEAR AHEAD. THE OLD SOLO PENSIONEE FROM GLASGOW.
