Belroy Hotel

The location is very central which made things easy. The rooms where dirty and dusty, the ben linen was stained, you have to be very small to fit into the shower cubicle but I would not recommend doing so as there is no hot water. The glasses and mugs where not clean and where murky . No fridge in the rooms but one communal one. They claim to have 24hour front desk service however when i got locked out late at night the man was very annoyed he did not want to let me in, i asked if i was meant to sleep out side and i was met with the reply “i dont know are you” he told me that “it was not his problem” (i am a 19 year old girl wearing a little black dress after i had gone out I was not drunk or being disruptive) he then went on to say that i had to pay £20 to just be let through the front door. Absolutely disgraceful. The rooms are advertised as double rooms but with the size of the beds and the position it was a very tight fit and i am only 5’2. Even though this was a “double room” you are only given one set of keys between you.

Thaw properly was in easy reach to the town centre compatible and with amenities quite easily accessible to the town.

The man who greeted us was lovely and helpful the room was very dated and worn you get what you pay for

I had a single room it was not good the room from top to bottom was dirty shower sink toilet carpet cups kettle bed never had a headboard there was know tea coffee sugar or milk in room the room needs a good makeover

Yes it was cheap but still…. After a 4 hr train journey, no one was there to greet us despite them knowing what time we were arriving. Eventually given the keys to room 11 (50 steep stairs) top floor the heating was on but promptly turned off and stayed off until the morning we left. No hot water despite running the water for 10 mins several times a day. I paid extra for toiletries and a hairdryer so didn’t bring my own. Had to ask for the hairdryer and toiletries to which I was told the 2 £2 size soaps were the toiletries. No plug in the sink. Bathroom ceiling covered in mould. Discoloured bath mat. Their clientele consisted off people drunk, shouting, slamming doors, crying, arguing, intimate noise all of which continued all through the night every night and a refusal argument to vacate by 10 o’clock. Despite being freezing and unable to wash for the weekend and paying extra for items I couldn’t use, the hotel is located near the tower, trams and town centre.

The bed was so comfy and the bedding and room smelt so nice and fresh. Was tea/coffee/sugar/milk available in the room and if you needed more there was some at reception. The managers were so friendly and made sure the room was ready for our arrival. Couldn’t have asked for any better for the cheap prices !

Old and Run down facility…I demand compensation, ******* is advocating for false advertisement.

Only book here if you can't find anywhere else. Pros : Location, Friendly Staff Cons : Filthy! Shower full of black mold. Dirty Carpets. Dated Decor. Whole place needs a total revamp. Such a shame.
