This is NOT a bed and breakfast. We received coffee and dated fruit on a table in the morning. With no outdoor lighting, it was difficult to walk to the car. The top floor suite had an unusual door covering stairs that did not enable you to lock it when you left the room leaving the room exposed. Shower was unusable. Space heater was so loud that we had to turn it off during a 30 degree night. We basically rented a bed for the night which was actually comfortable.

We arrived at the dark, had a seamless check in. The room had a door at one end with no lock, and a door in the middle of the room coming up the stairs that was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I did not feel safe in this room. In addition to that, I never saw breakfast this morning nor anyone there not even a cup of coffee. I was very disappointed in this experience.

We stayed at a B&B that didn’t serve breakfast. We only saw the host once who didn’t provide a key to our room. The loft room was awkward and the shower was so small I had to kneel to get under it. The old gravel driveway was difficult to maneuver and there was inadequate lighting outside the residence.

The Inn-keeper was nice, but everything else about our stay was disappointing. The room was tiny; there was no room to sit in our room, the shower didn’t work, the tub took 30 minutes to drain, some of the plugs didn’t work and/or were behind furniture that had to be moved. We would not recommend this Inn.

This is a pretty cool place, if you can tolerate very uneven old floors. We found them amusing. Our bedroom floor was dirty with a bunch of junk under the bed, but the private bathroom was quite clean. In our room, there was no place for hanging clothes, except one bathroom door hook. No breakfast or snacks provided. Our bed was super sunk in and uncomfortable--felt like sleeping in a hammock with three people, but some of the other beds looked better. Because the floors creek, there are (generally tolerable) indoor and outdoor noises. Otherwise, not bad. It has a quaint, old-world a**osphere. Definitely not handicap friendly . . . lots of stairs and places to trip. The Inn Keeper was pleasantly aloof and disinterested; never intrusive. Happily, there were no televisions!

Unique, old property. Old, impressive trees surrounding the place.

This is a comfortable and homey early nineteenth century inn that has been nicely renovated. The owner, June, is delightful and welcoming, serving fresh coffee and pastries each morning. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back again.

This was the perfect place to stay for a brief solo trip! The staff were so kind and had recommendations for restaurants. It was a very quiet and peaceful place to relax and not too far from Asheville or hiking spots.

Thankfully my credit card company ruled in my favor and I got a full refund. I booked a stay here via AAA. The Inn's address given to me by AAA was (and still is) incomplete - which is the responsibility of the owner to maintain - and the address given on Google was (and still is) incorrect. I was not able to find the establishment because of this negligence - I was navigated to the opposite side of town. I had to book a different hotel after a 10 hour drive, and after an hour of trying to find this place in a random neighborhood. When I spoke to the owner on the phone the next morning (she wasn't answering my repeated calls at 8pm despite knowing her guest never arrived), she said she was aware of these issues, that other guests had the same problem I did, yet she had not taken measures to update her listings on AAA or Google - and was unwilling to give me a refund. She was also quite rude. Months later, I am seeing that the address has not been corrected by the owner for either online listing. Clearly the owner doesn't care if her would-be guests are inconvenienced or can't find the place, given that she has a "no refunds" policy. Other information on the Inn's AAA and Google listings were misleading and incorrect (there's actually a quite limited check-in time, breakfast is not offered, etc.), and if correct information had been provided I would not have booked with them to begin with. Agents with AAA attempted to reach the owner to tell her to update the information on the listing, too. Furthermore, when I was booking my alternate stay at a nearby hotel (Hampton Inn in Black Mountain - really nice stay, such nice people!), they said they've had other guests that booked with the Black Mountain Inn, took one step inside, and turned right back around! If anyone else runs into the same issue: file a dispute with your credit card company if possible. I made my case based on the information above, and they issued me a full refund.
