sadly the apartment didn't live up to the beautiful Art Deco exterior and communal areas. We stayed during the Commonwealth Games, which presumably accounted for the massive price rise (over £1500 more than the current listing price for the same apartment) Let me first say that as a positive, I couldn't fault the staff there - particularly the cleaners and the maintenance man we encountered. However, for the price we paid (or even for the current list price) I did feel let down. The bed was very small, and the bedroom itself was stiflingly hot, despite the open windows and the fans, which worked almost constantly while we were there. In fact, my husband slept quite a few nights on the sofa for this reason. The television kept switching itself off and although we reported this on more than one occasion, it was unable to be fixed while we were there. The toilet seat lid came off in our hands on the first night we were there, and this happened again even after it had been "fixed" twice, so in the end we just left it off. We were unable to leave the windows open at night due to frequent noises from outside of bottles/glasses being emptied into bins from (presumably) local pubs. All in all, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to any of my friends. I do realise however, from reading other reviews, that other people have had a different experience from the one we had, but it's not for us.
