Property Description
The Painted Lady will soon arrive to Birmingham with our 22-room and suite boutique hotel, occupying the old Eyer-Raden Building in the Automotive Historic District. Legend has it that the “Louise Curtis” who operated a “boarding house” in the upper floors of this building was Louise C. Wooster, sex worker and brothel owner turned local celebrity when her selfless work as a nurse in the city’s cholera wards went public in the 1870’s.

I would highly recommend The Painted Lady. It is a beautiful hotel. The staff were great. Very accessible and accommodating! The rooms are unique. We had the absolute best stay in this hotel. It is convenient to uAB and all the entertainment.

Great aesthetic, very clean and courteous staff. They could have charged us double what we ended up paying and would have still been worth it. Location is close to downtown and plenty of dining options in walking distance. Highly recommend. Will definitely be staying here when we come back to Birmingham.

Our stay at the Painted Lady was wonderful! They've done an amazing job with the building, and we had a very smooth and relaxing experience. I really liked being able to check-in online and use my phone as the key. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the provided toiletries were excellent - on par with what I would expect in a 4 or 5 star hotel. The coffee and tea bar was a great touch as well - though a decaf option would be a great addition. It also has perhaps the fastest WiFi I've ever encountered in a hotel, which is a huge plus to me. I would pick the Painted Lady over any big chain every single time. Very glad to have it as an option, and can't wait to be back!
