The suite I stayed in, the room was large, the view was good, and there was a garage in the ground. Maybe the room is not new enough, but it is well maintained. Next to the park, walk to the Basque Museum for 5 minutes and Guggenheim for 10 minutes. I recommend.

The picture with the subway sheet above the bed in room 107 describes the location of the room. It is a dark hole that you cannot shake to the guests. Through the window, which is located to a desolate inner sheet, almost no daylight falls into the room. You have to almost always turn artificial light in so that you can move in the room! The photos of room 107 published by the hotel operator do not reflect the reality at all. All were taken with artificial light without exception. The reception of the Casual Blue, which consists of a table and a chair, was not occupied during our stay. All communication with the operator, such as the access code to the hotel and the room, was carried via the smartphone either by email or via WhatsApp. A direct contact was possible only with the Casual Gurea, which belongs to the same group, which is about 200 metres away.

We stayed four nights in a NYX Suite in the middle of August. This hotel has an excellent location at the entrance to the old Town. The Renfe train station to Madrid and Barcelona is about 6 minutes walking across the bridge right in front of the hotel. This bridge also takes you to the major shopping street of Bilbao as well. The Guggenheim is a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the river and around the corner you'll find the Plaza Barria with some of the best pinxto bars in the Basque country. The metro station that will take you right to the intermodal bus station is a short 2 minute walk away. The suite was compact with only a double bed, but the bathroom was roomy and the shower easily fit two. Storage was minimal, but there was a safe, mini fridge, iron and ironing board. The coffee maker was an imitation Nespresso, but the pods were Lavazza. The balcony had a fantastic 270 degree view of the old Town and the newer city across the river. A negative note: Almost every evening we came home to discover a new invasion of ants crossing our room, slipping under the door and parading down the hall.

I enjoyed my stay here, everything was super clean and private feeling. The downstairs area was nice, and there were activities on each night. The only thing I'd say is it would be nice to have bathrooms outside of the rooms as well on each floor in case you need to use the shower etc at the same time as someone in your room. It also felt like you were intruding in their space if you went into the bathroom area when someone else was in there (the shower, toilet, and mirror/sink were all really close together). Saying that, I'd still stay again!

Un hostel muy comódo con un buen ambiente. La ubicación es ideal si quieres pasar tu tiempo en el Casco Viejo, y está al lado del río y las calles principales del Casco Viejo. Las camas y salas son comódas y los lockers y aseos funcionan bien. El ambiente en la área común es muy acogedora y el equipo nos ayudó con cualquier duda. La terraza en la quinta planta es muy bonita. Hay ruido por las calles y los pasillos por la noche así que vale la pena traer un tapón para los oídos. Hay que pedir para que te den el mando para el aire acondicionado, pero funciona bien. Y recordar que hay que sacar las sábanas de cama y ponerlas en las cajas que hay por las escaleras - que no es un hotel!

I thought I'd exhausted my search of hotels in Bilbao, but stumbled upon the Bilder Boutique Hotel quite late on before my trip. I'm glad I did! For the standard of the rooms, I thought it was very reasonably priced: approx. £130 per night with breakfast. I opted for an 'inside' room, which had a window onto a small courtyard. Despite being very central in the old town, this meant it was incredibly quiet overnight, even with the window open. The room itself was lovely: spotless, good tea and coffee facilities, comfy bed and a great bathroom. The hotel is in the old town itself and, very conveniently, less than a 5 minute walk to a Metro stop. Also, the bus to the airport is just a 15 minute walk away at Plaza Noyoa. Lots of other attractions, bars and restaurants all within a 5 to 20 minute walk. Reception staff were very friendly. My only complaint was at breakfast time. Breakfast was lovely, and arguably very good value for the amount you bet, but the service wasn't particularly friendly. There was a language barrier with an older guy working over the weekend. I just felt this isn't a reason to come across as quite cold. By contrast, the guy serving on the Sunday morning also didn't speak English, but was still very friendly.
