We spent two nights in the "Grizzly Bear" room. Very nice, warm rooms. Great hot tub. River access and walking/snowshoeing/backcountry skiing trails just a short walk across the bridge. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary continental breakfast was absolutely fantastic! The breakfast chef, Ian, was a delight to chat with and the food was outstanding! Ian changes the breakfasts up each morning and they are truly a great way to start each day. Great location for exploring the BIg Sky area and the West entrance area to Yellowstone. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for one night whilst heading from West Yellowstone through into NE Montana. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the whole thing very enjoyable. The accommodation is first class and we had a deluxe lodge room. Great view our over the gardens and river. The only very minor down side is that the place has no AC (they do have fans in the rooms) and there is a relatively busy highway out front. These are minor issues. The on site Wild Caddis restaurant (reviewed separately) is a huge bonus.

For two friends traveling from Colorado, looking for a change of scenery and a new mountain to explore, this Rustic Mountain Lodge delivered. Rainbow Ranch’s grounds are well maintained, the outside has a fresh facelift. Though the inside of our room could use some updating, I believe management is aware of this and are slowly updating all their room. It was clean and just what we needed. I was able to work remotely for the week, note that there is no cell service, to be expected in a remote mountain location, however, there is a good WiFi connection, enabling me to send texts and make calls. Needless, to say I was able to get all my work done. While my friend was enjoying the ski mountain which is a close 20-minute drive to the base of Big Sky, I enjoyed the hot tub, hiking trail, fire pits, and comfy leather chairs in the lobby. We had dinner in the restaurant two nights during our stay, What a treat that was! We tried the Bison tenderloin, Wild trout, Ribeye, Wild Boar ravioli, and Wine! We both agreed it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time and we live in Vail. A few things of note would be the walls of our hotel room are thin, we defiantly heard the conversations of our neighbors. As mentioned the rooms could use some updating, new carpet, and updated bathrooms, in the meantime would suggest adding more hooks in the bathrooms while changes are being made. On the day of our arrival, we thought the front desk would be open, as the check-in email indicated 9 pm office hours. I fully understand staffing issues, but letting us know prior to our arrival how after-hour check-in works would have been helpful, but we made it even after a 13hr dive in a snow storm! I want to mention, that the staff and this lodge are great. They have recently hired additional staff and they hired some good ones. Everyone was so kind to us, always willing to help. The front desk ladies, gentlemen, and pup were helpful and friendly. The head housekeeper was working long hours, but always asked if I was ok or needed anything, all with a smile on her face! The Maintenace staff again friendly and hard-working, they kept the woodpiles fully stocked every day, Which I really enjoyed. Overall, we would stay at Rainbow Ranch again. It offered us everything we wanted. Friendly, kind staff, clean facilities, remote mountain relaxation, and a place to unwind after snowboarding. We look forward to returning and bringing friends in the future.

This hotel could be a great option but it isn’t. The rooms were last renovated in the mid-nineties and it really shows. The furniture look cheap. The outdoor hot tub is very large but the jets don’t work. The staff seems to do the bare minimum. Breakfast starts at 8, which is already kind of late for a ski town, and when we were there it was another 10 minutes late. It wasn’t good either. Overall, not worth $500 a night, especially for a hotel which is in the middle of nowhere.

Very Dirty, bathrooms moldy, not even a cup for water, no microwave as advertised, no staff, in need of a huge remodel. Website a total misrepresentation . Sits rights on the road with traffic noise all night. So overpriced for experience- go elsewhere.

The Good - the food. Overall the culinary team did a great job. The Bad - the staff did not have the tools or the training to Provide great service. Shower leaked and flooded the bathroom with each use. Room sat on the interstate. There is no AC or fans but leaving the window open for some air resulted in no sleep with trucks and cars driving by. Request went unanswered and overlooked. Problems are not fixed. The Ugly - we never once interacted with any member of the team other than the Front Desk Attendant. Management never made an attempt to assist, greet or help us and it is a very small hotel. Maybe a great location for a buyout wedding but not for a transient/tourist guest.

After a long day of hiking in Yellowstone, we were looking forward to arriving at this lodge. The reviews were great. Unfortunately, we arrived at the wrong time. The lodge was overrun by a large number of staff working on a movie. We were not greeted promptly. Actually, we were told to get out of the way and be quiet. Then, the front desk clerk was unable to check us in. We waited over 45 minutes. Then, we were unable to move our car close to the room. Of course, our luggage is heavy (packed for a week long trip of hiking at Yellowstone). No one apologized for the inconvenience. Nor, were we notified ahead of time. We would have arrived at another time. Working in customer service, this is NOT how things are done. I think what was most disappointing, is that we have planned this trip for a while. Post Covid. It’s been a long 3 years in healthcare.

our room was awesome. The bed was very comfortable. The bathtub and the walk-in shower were amazing. Wood burning fireplace in the bedroom made it extremely cozy. All the staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast was great. There is also a really nice restaurant and bar on property that was really good.
