Just as advertised… clean, comfortable and quiet. Well, the motel IS on US 395, so expect occasional minor noise from the semis. But overall, a very pleasant stay in a less-than-crowded area. The bottles of water and the little welcome basket with fruit and crackers was an unexpected plus. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area planning to visit the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. It’s certainly closer than Bishop to the Inyo National Forest AND less crowded. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

It's better than every five-star hotel I've ever been in. Charming beyond words. Set in the most picturesque town. You know all those Hallmark movies set in the most impossibly cute little hamlets? They do exist. Big Pine is proof of it. Starlight Motel only adds to the charm.

We visit family in Big Pine about once a year. The Starlight Motel has really stepped up its game. The rooms have been refurbished, and the owners are super friendly. Upon check-in, they gave us a snack basket, as well as water and coffee. For our second night at the property, they made pizzas at the barbecue and gave us each a personal pizza free of charge! They are super nice people. We had a great stay. Highly recommended!

Basic amenities, comfortable bed. Excellent stopover place. Most convenient for hiking to Big Pine lakes. Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, Owen’s valley radio observatory, back packing , mountain biking, fishing in the Owen’s river and back road to the Death Valley.

Excellent clean room, everything I needed was provided, water at checkin. The owners were exceptionally gracious from reservation to checkout. Rooms are a bit older but well worth the price. Even received a coffee coupon for breakfast down the street, great community effort.

I didn't actually stay here, as there wasn't any vacancy—but unlike *any* of the other places I tried, the staff at Starlight offered to call me if they had a cancellation. I was traveling by bicycle in an awful wind storm and Pravin went of his way to be helpful, offering food, water, and use of the patio area. Wonderful host!

Older place, but it is clean. It is a small place right off Hwy 395. Friendly staff, good customer service. Neighborhood is good for walking dog. Big Pine is small, but Bishop has everything you need.
