After checking in, they arranged local cultural content very considerately, including helping tourists dress up and providing free local refreshments. The most amazing thing is that they also arranged a reliable guide to take you on a night tour of the ancient city for free, to see different scenery and explanations. Detailed history. When we left, we were given some local handicrafts as souvenirs (pictured below), which was so thoughtful!

This great little boutique property that reflects in every aspect of its facilities and service the charm of the medieval city of Bhaktapur, is a great boon to people who would like to spend some time in the city. I am happy to note that the Newari dinner menu they have developed encapsulates a culinary tradition of the valley that is adapted to please foreigners.

We spent 2 nights (full days). The hotel is perfectly positioned in this peaceful little town just two minutes walk to Durbar square. The room had everything you need and the restaurant excellent.. with a view into the open kitchen (try the local red wine which was superb). Breakfast was outstanding. We had a complimentary guided walking tour with a local priest which brought the whole town to life (do it as soon as you arrive if possible). The staff lovely! A perfect hotel!!

My husband and I spent three days at this beautiful spot in Bhaktapur. We very much enjoyed the room and communal space - the design was beautiful and very well thought out. The food was great, the staff was lovely and the location to the historic center of Bhaktapur was ideal. We loved this spot and will stay again the next time we are back!

Cosy place in modern Newari inspired style. Very warm service. Nice spacy room with light atmosphere. The restaurant is homely and the kitchen is excellent. The only minus is the nightly noise of the streetdogs and slightly elevated price

We chose the Nanee hotel for its location and we were not disappointed. After a long flight we were very tired but our mood was greatly improved upon our arrival to the Nanee. The property is very beautiful, modern and very artsy. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed (with big pillows), the restaurant serves awesome food with a wide selection. What really stood out was the warm welcome and high level of service we received from the hotel staff. Upon our arrival we had a welcome reception and were given a traditional Dhaka topi and Nepali scarf, this was a really nice touch. The hotel is very close to the Bhaktapur Durbar Square (3 minute walk) for spectacular tourist photos of the area. From the rooftop you can see all of the surrounding neighbourhoods, fascinating! We went on a free walking tour offered by the hotel and it did not disappoint, great photos, history lesson and enchanting guide. The receptionist ( a young woman, - we didn’t get her name) was extremely friendly and related some of her experiences living in Bhaktapur and gifted us with some beautiful Nepali masks upon our departure. We would highly recommend the Nanee Hotel if you plan on visiting Kathmandu and the surrounding area. It’s new, a beautiful property with a great restaurant and very kind, professional staff and the location cannot be beat. Alexander & Sandra (Canada)

Amazing place, we wished we could stay longer. Very friendly welcome and amazing hotel. Great food (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Pesonal tour of the pottery square. Room was sizable and stylished furnished. It's also in a great location as its a 3 min walk to Darber square.

Simply wonderful. Comfortable, cosy, serene and lovely people looking after you. The bed was terrifically comfortable with soft cotton sheets and sumptuous pillows. The food from the restaurant was not just the finest I have had in Nepal, but probably the finest anywhere. The blend of traditional Nepali tastes and spices served up with a modern style, made for delicious eating. All of the staff were superb and immensely welcoming from first arrival to a sad farewell. This IS the place to stay if you visit Baktapur - and so easy to step out to see the sun rise and set among the temples.
