Guests lauded the clean, well-maintained rooms, friendly staff, and affordable prices. They enjoyed the full English breakfast and found the beds comfy. Some noted external noise in certain rooms.

The room was dirty, the shelves falling off the wall in the bathroom and they overcharged me by 450.00. It took two weeks of arguments to get my money back. The quilt was tiny and did not cover my feet and they had no hangers for the wardrobe. No breakfast before 7:30 but still charge for it.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband, his sister and brother-in-law as part of a popular gift experience. Was a little apprehensive as some previous reviews weren't too favourable but overall was pleasantly surprised. The pub is in a quiet village location with a large green and a flock of resident geese. It has a large car park, free wifi and plenty of outside seating. Rooms are in what was once the stable block. My husband and I stayed in room 6. It is a decent sized room with a double bed and sofa and was well equipped with kettle, tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc., small fridge, tv, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, electric fan and small additional heater. There were pump dispensers for soap, body wash and shampoo in the bathroom. Decor was a little dated but room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. All the staff we encountered were cheerful and friendly. As part of our deal, dinner was included on the first evening, a choice of 3 courses from the main menu. Portions were generous and nicer than anticipated, given previous reviews. At breakfast there was a selection of fruit juices, cereals, grapefruit and prunes plus a choice of cooked breakfast and tea/coffee. Breakfast was well cooked and poached eggs perfect on both mornings. On the second evening I had the lamb madras with rice from the main menu and naan bread as an optional extra. Portion size was good and the curry was homemade, very tasty and the lamb tender. The others all opted for cottage pie from the specials menu (2 courses for £13 or 3 for £15) and portion size was small by comparison. Beyton is only a short distance from the market town of Bury St. Edmund's where we spent a very pleasant day during our stay.

This venue had the potential of being an excellent stay but was let down by what to us was a significant event of very poor service at our last breakfast and a couple of other incidents that spoilt what could have been a perfect stay. The facility requires that residents agree a time for breakfast. Having agreed a time for our first breakfast later in the evening we were asked to bring the time forward by half an hour. On our last morning we turned up at the agreed time to find that all the other residents turned up at the same time of 9.00 am. It was not until after 9.40 am that our breakfast was served and unfortunately was not what was ordered requiring an even further delay. Even then we were not supplied with toast and there was a further delay before this was corrected. What was more disappointing was the lack of an apology. Other concerns were that when we went to pay for an evening meal there was an attempt to overcharge by exactly £30. Again no explanation or apology when a challenge was made to the overcharge. No detailed bill was supplied. Whilst our room was serviced on two of the days of our stay on one day it was not and no explanation given.

Stayed with friendfri evening, room was very clean, bed comfy and warm. Good cooked breakfast and service. Also had dinner in restaurant nice pub grub! Had a nice stay and reasonable cost too. Would stay again. Although the room was a little old fashioned it was cosy. The area around the pub rural and pretty.

Very good food, very friendly service, excellent value for money. Foid arrives on hot plates, often over looked. Vegetables served in dish for table. The whitebait is truly a treat. Five people very well fed and watered for less than 20 pounds each.

During our stay we ate two breakfasts and two dinners and the food was excellent on each occasion. Well cooked and presented at reasonable prices. The service was also top class with all the staff being friendly, helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble.

My partner and I, visited this pub after seeing the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. When we arrived we sat in the garden . I went to order some drinks and get a food menu. The Barman kindly offered to bring a bowl of water for our dog and take our order. We both decided to go for the Ploughman's lunch with hot sausages. When it arrived it consisted of 2 sausages, half a part-baked baguette (that you buy in a supermaket and stick in the oven for 10 minutes), a bit of salad and a dollop of pickle. The price. £8.50 each. Strangely, I could have ordered a sausage baguette, CHIPS and a salad for £7.75. When I queried this with the landlady (who had been tipped off prior by, I assume a local) I was made to feel that i was out of order for raising it as an issue. She said that I should have had a WHOLE baguette and not half of one and shoved £5 in my hand by way of recompense. No apology, very abrupt and in my opinion, rude . Needless to say, we won't be going back again.

We stayed in the white horse for two nights, what a great reception we got when booking into our room. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We arrived at 1.30pm lunch was until 2pm so we had lunch, wow the food was great.we had dinner on both nights as well. The full English breakfast on both mornings what is cooked to perfection. The room was spotlessly clean and very spacious, two bottles of water and tea making facilities was a nice touch. Will definitely be going back soon.
