We booked Kateshill for a surprise party for my mom, after some last minute confusion over the dates the event was a great success. Some challenges with staffing to begin with , with no one manning the bar but that was sorted after a while , we had the dining room to ourselves , food was great and Mom had a great day

My partner and i visited this lovely place for her birthday back in April, and she booked two days here for me on the 5th & 6th October '24. Yet again we had an absolutely fantastic stay, this time in the Boleyn room. The extra little bits that my partner had organised, such as bringing me a birthday cake whilst singing Happy Birthday to me was special (thank you Sam and Hannah), plus i also had a bottle of champagne. We were gutted however to find that from November this will no longer be a B & B hotel. We were looking forward to staying with Sam and her staff in December and hopefully again next year but sadly this is not to be. So, to Sam, Hannah, Caroline and the rest of the gang, thank you for everything you did and for giving us two fantastic stays with you, and we both wish you all the best for the future with whatever you decide to do. The hotel is a fantastic historical building but all of you made it a hotel worth staying in. Thank you, Baz Although we have only stayed here twice, we have never met such a lovely, kind and helpful team of staff as these and we really will miss them.

Fantastic across the board. On site parking. We were greeted by Caroline an absolutely bubbly person, who could not be more helpful. Each room has a name, ours was PARR. Ours room was decorated in lemon and grey and absolutely everything was co-ordinated, sheets, towels, walls, tiles, cushions etc. The room was very large lots of room for suitcases. The bathroom was also very large. Even though there was a few people staying you did not hear other guests. Breakfast was served in a large dining room, cereals etc available as a buffet, and then a cooked breakfast with all the usual options. A short walk into Bewdley for dinner.

My husband and I booked Kateshill House as a stopover on our way back home from an event near Swindon. It was my birthday so wanted somewhere a bit special to stay. We were greeted by the lovely, vibrant Caroline, who showed us a few rooms for us to choose from. We chose Aragon. The building and gardens are beautiful. The rooms are too. All individually decorated. Aragon was lovely - huge bay window overlooking gardens with seating, a very comfortable 4 poster, spacious bathroom. I was hoping for a little more of a special bathroom (roll top bath, rainfall shower), however, it was still very nice, with robes and fluffy towels. We felt very relaxed in our room and wished we were staying more than 1 night! Breakfast is pre-order, which wouldn't be my usual choice, but I can understand how it works well. We both ordered a hot breakfast and it was very tasty - good ingredients, cooked well. My only feedback would be that it would be good if breakfast was up to 10am, rather than 9am. The location is ideal - a nice short walk into Bewdley, which is a gorgeous place, with friendly people. We would definitely return, and hope to do so next year!

Our second visit (with friends) and unfortunately the worst! Previous visit when previous owner was in situ and Kateshill was loved. On arrival we were asked to complete our breakfast choices for the next day, my husband offered to pay for our stay (which he was told 'not to worry' and we were shown to our rooms, the Boleyn room with dated decor and the tiniest (double) bed!!!!(worst night sleep due to the lack of room …….. who has a double bed at home????? The poorly fitted headboard hit the wall every time you sat on the bed! Which prompted me to place one of the tired and bleach marked towels over the headboard to cushion the headboard from hitting the wall…..I left this in place after we checked out & hopefully this review will explain the reason? My husband took a shower, the water slowly trickled out and no adjustment option!!! Our friends stayed in the 'Newly refurbished' Cleeve room….. the Toilet seat was too small and had to be held up during use!!!!!!! One bottle of water each one teabag….. no staff around to ask for more…… had a mediocre breakfast the next day and again no staff……had to call the hotel number twice to attract a staff member to pay for our disappointing stay……to add insult my husband was asked by the cleaner (a young lady who was cleaning upstairs) if we enjoyed our stay? He told her he enjoyed his breakfast!!!! That was it……we won’t be returning to Kateshill again it’s charming in character but lacks the 5 star touches that should come with 5 stars.

What a great experience staying at Kateshill. Great rooms and central to the historical village of Bewdley. The highlight was the amazing staff; Sweet Caroline and Sam. They could not do enough for us. We highly recommend staying at Kateshill.

We called into Kateshill House en route to Great Witley. This was unplanned. We decided to stay for a lunchtime drink and sandwiches - four of us. Warm welcome, great service, excellent food and drink all in a wonderful and peaceful setting. Thank you!

Promised refund but never transpired!! As stay was not good - quite disgusting to be honest Room was dirty and the stench from bathroom so bad had to go purchase bleach to disguise smell shower had mould all over floor and shower hose radiator not cleaned in months threadbare mats and window unable to be opened to air room as rotten & broken Claims to have bar facilities but no staff to run or provide service - no clean sheets or towels provided for 4 day stay …staff claimed to have lost spare key to provide room service Wrote complaint & provided photographic evidence and had several mail exchanges & phones calls and was promised refund from Steve the owner but not true to word and no money ever repaid - Truly shocking experience from the outside looks good but reality is not a good place and not honourable people

Beautiful house, room and gardens. Good quality breakfast. Very helpful staff. Well definitely return. We also attended a wake whilst staying and the food and drink that was supplied was delicious. Alot of history about the house and gardens, which the manager was happy to share.
