First of all, I give them a 2 instead of a 1 because rooms are mostly OK. I stayed there as part of a group. They are not ready to host big groups with some requirements. Examples: food was very low quality. No one would serve you this food for more than 5€/menu. Just asking for a decaf was a nightmare. If you are vegan or vegetarian, this is not your hotel. Another example, we had to use plastic forks (reused and dishwashed) to have dessert. See attached photo. Additionally, apart from their lack of quality, their attitude was not possitive, with no intention of helping and sometimes with an agressive tone. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone except you want to save money and just have meals outside.

A lovely hotel. Looks traditional on the outside, but is quite modern inside. The room was very clean and comfortable. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and also would stay here again. The only downside is its location. After a very long walk, the hill up to the hotel from the town centre is a bit of a challenge.

We chose this from the images of the building from outside but unfortunately were given a room on the top floor which was obviously added on and built to a tight budget. The aircon only worked at half power, the tv was so small it was a joke and the decoration, i.e. the picture on the wall, was an overly large terrible dark painting which led us to think that perhaps it was there to cover some defect on the wall beneath, only we didn’t dare to look. The staff save the day, friendly and attentive - we asked for extra pillows and they were brought up almost immediately. The price for the room wasn’t one we’d pay again so we won’t be going back, even to try a room in the proper part of the building.

I walked about 12 miles on the Camino de Santiago and arrived at the Hotel Villa de Betanzos. I was greatly disappointed. The reception was wonderful, but the room is a DUMP. The photos don't show what the room truly looks like. I might have slept 1/2 an hour because of the horribly uncomfortable bed. It was the worst night sleep I've had in a long time. I would NOT recommend.

What a wonderful retreat in Betanzos. The rooms were scrupulously clean, the hotel personnel were professional, kind and patient. They were very accommodating to our group of ten peregrinos on the Camino Inglés and had great recommendations for dinners! Thank you Paula and Laura.

Hotel smells like there is mold/ mildew. So much street noise. People knocking on doors at 1, 130, 2 am No air conditioning until May. Room was too hot. Was checked into an occupied room. If not for all the street noise walls so thin the snoring in next room kept me awake. I travel with a sound conditioner to help mask noise. This was of no help. I am letting the tour company that booked here know also.

Fabuloso hotel emplazado en un hermoso edificio de principios del siglo XX, de estilo modernista. Fácilmente accesible, cerca del casco histórico, con parking y wigi gratuitos, limpio, bien iluminado, trato genial de todo el personal, exquisito desayuno y comidas en su restaurante. Bonita colección de pintura y hermoso piano! Sobresaliente!
